Generally when you have a new battery you need to charge it for a day before you use it, just to fully push the limit of the battery - they tell you this with cell phones - plug them in continously for 13 hrs before first use. Same with any lithium battery. So try getting a new battery because the capacity is fried.

Battery not holding charge

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Why does my iPod not hold s charge?

Hello,

was it holding charge before now? If yes, then it means the battery of the ipod is defective. The battery cell is weak such that it cannot hold charge any longer.

The battery for your ipod needs to be replaced.

I hope the above is clear.

Regards.

Mp3 wont turn on or hold a charge what do i do?

If you have fully charged the device with the power cable and it still will not turn on, it is likely that the battery is no longer holding a charge. You would have to contact Sylvania to ask about battery replaement, but it may be cheaper to purchase a new device.

My wife has had a Apple iPod Nano 2GB in cupboard for 4 years, a present never used, she has now given to grand daughter but it seems that the battery is not holding a charge. Is it posible to change this...

The battery is dead. They do not like being unused and not charged for long periods. The battery can be replaced. For details on how to replace the battery, go to the WEB site I have given and watch a YouTube video.

MP4 player will not hold charge

If your MP4 player is 'old' or frequently used and you can use it while being connected to your PC or charger, then the most likely reason is that the internal Li-Ion battery is worned and not capable of holding a decent charge: the solution is to replace the internal Li-ion battery: you have to decide if this is economically viable especially if you cannot do it yourself or the replacement battery is too expensive.

Battery not holding charge

Hi,
Sounds like your battery is going. Many Mp3 players can have their batteries replaced, the problem is finding someone with the parts or who is willing to do it. I have found that the batteries are usually the same as the iPod shuffles use. The battery is probably soldered onto the circuit board so the shop will need to be able to solder. You may be able to get service from the factory. Hope that helps.

The new Battery does not hold charge.

if you charge it directly from the wall you may have a peak or an excesive charge due to a cheap charger or a defective one that may cause a short to a diode or resistor inside your ipod taking all the charge from the battery, Apple may charge you more than a new one is worth. But if you want to use it only for the car or the office you can keep it connected or into one of those nice sound sistems for Ipod is good, at least you wont have to throw it on the garbage. Next time try to use a sourge protector for all your electonics their inexpensive and they can save you a lot of money.
