Question about Hitachi 43FDX15B 43" Rear Projection Television
I have the red shift convergence problem. I replaced the 392-120 with 392-150 and all the resistors. it worked but did not solve the shift issue. I noticed that the rk46 resistor was burnt so I replaced it and put in stk394 160 ic which is supposed to be a direct replacement for the 120,150 chips. I powered it up and it fried the rk46 1.5 ohm resistor almost immediately. Put another resistor and it did the same thing. I noticed that the resistor is in series with two diodes which seem to check out ok. I noticed that the resistor connect to a plug labeled red pcb which appears to be the red cathode ray gun. turned the set on without the divergence board connect and all the guns seem to emit a snow ball pattern in their respective colors I shut it off immediately to avoid damaging it. Do I need to buy two more chips or is there another problem?
You should have put the original OEM STK's in the set - if your set had 110's or 120s put those chips only. Do not risk different chips with different specs/amps/ etc....when you do resistors blow as you have discovered.
