Question about Universal Remote Control MX-800 LCD Remote Control

Need cable/wire to attach to computer to program Universal MX800

We have two Universal Home Theater Master MX-800 remotes that were originally programed for our equipment. We have moved so the equipment had to be reinstalled in our new home, however the remote is not working with this same equipment. We were told by our local Geek Squad that a cable/wire is needed to attach it to a computer to program it. We have been unsuccessful tracking one down on the internet. Any help would be deeply appreciated. My husband has Parkinsons disease and this remote is far easy for him to use so we are not anxious to get something else.

You can programme this remote directly from your pc or yu could use the add additional option at each piece of equipment you have. this would add the device into the macro which is needed to perform the option you require.

The Theater Master MX-800is a complex remote that can be programmed either via software, or entering the right codes.

Using the software is probably the easier way to program multiple devices.

You can download the software for your remote at the factory link below, a free registration will be required:

    Download Software - (Registration Required)*

The following pages will also give you specific information on how to use the software to program the remote.

Let me know if you need further help, I will be back online in few hours.

I had to get a new TV HD receiver. How do I get it programmed to my MX-850 remote? It will not turn my TV receiver on when I push the on button. I have to manually turn on the receiver.

What kind of receiver did you get? DirecTV, Dish, or something else? This remote comes with software and cables you can connect to your computer. Once you install it, and connect the device, you can program it to connect with your specific electronic components. You may need your existing/original remotes to help get everything set up, but usually that is a one-time process.

Remote programming

Definately know a great place for you. Total Control Remotes (www.totalcontrolremotes.com) is a shop dedicated to providing clients with products and specializes in remote programming. I had an MX-3000 and an MX-6000 programmed for my client through Total Control Remotes. Not only did they give me a great deal on the remotes, but they programmed them great. My clients were happy. You don't have to buy the remote from them. Just visit the website, click Contact Us, and download a sheet in the downloads section describing your setup. Click submit, and you will receive an estimate quickly. In 2-3 days they can program the remote for you with awesome graphics. If you don't have a graphical remote they do a great job as well. I highly reccomend them. They are also home theater installers as well as home automation specialists. Give them a try!! Good Luck - Jim

Battery needed for MX-3000

My company carries a replacement battery for the MX3000.  The p/n for our replacement is PC036067-(V1 or V3 suffix)  You can reach me via email at sales@thebatterystore.net and I will be happy to help you.
There are three important considerations concerning this battery.
1) Please note that the original version, supplied by Universal Remote p/n PC046067-H for the MX-3000, was discontinued by the battery manufacturer.  The PC046067-H had a typical capacity of 1800 mah.  My company has worked with the manufacturer to provide a replacement that has a typical capacity of 1400 mah but is identical in size to the original although slightly thinner.
2) Universal Remote used two different connectors on the PC046067-H with no deviation of p/n.  We carry our replacement with both connectors (our p/ns use suffix V1 and V3 to differentiate).  V1 is a simple white plug and V3 is different in that it has pressure tab built in.

Umm......help

Moments after I posted my original question, I decided to go for it. Here's what I did.

Grasp the remote in two hands with the "Light" button sticking up and closest to your left hand. If you rotate the top of your left hand away from your body and the top of your right hand towards your body, flexing the remote, a small opening will appear to the right of the "Light" button. Get a small screwdriver in there and start working it around the perimeter of the remote. There are indents every inch or two around the remote. Be careful when separating the shells as the battery holders are integrated into the black part of the shell and can bend easily.

Once I got inside, I found that the LCD panel had become completely disconnected. I just needed to plug back in the LCD panel ribbon cable and the remote worked perfectly again.

Whew!
