Question about Hamilton Beach Water Cooler with Storage Cabinet

Open Question

Water leaks from bottle

I have a Model 87330 water dispenser. after placing any full bottle of water on unit after a short time (15 min to 2 hours) water pours up and out where the bottle should be sealing on the unit. I tried removing the cap puncture and also removing bottle caps, and unit still pours out from the unit/bottle contact area, especially from the small breather/filter insert.

Thanks for your help!

The cooler appears to work fine, but after a couple of hours water starts to pour out of the top of the cooler. I'm guessing that pressure from the water in the bottle simply forces water into the system until it flows out through the opening. The opening in the bottle cap does not seem to seal tightly to the intake probe and I think the water gets by there.

Could it just be the tpe of bottle I am using? Why does it not start leaking right away?

SOURCE: My hot water on model #87330 cooler has stopped

Unfortunatly this is going to be a bad heating element or high limit thermostat, It's going to be cheaper to buy a new one or just make do with cold water. Sorry I can't be more helpfull but i worked on these things for a while and the company i worked for would rather buy new then put time effort and parts into a $100 water dispencer.

if I can be of any more assitance please feel free to comment again.

SOURCE: Cold Water not squirting out cold water

To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.

SOURCE: Hamilton Beach 87330 water dispenser: no auto shut off

The model 87330 uses two solid state cooler modules (look like little radiators} and two fans, one for each cooler module When you have the unit on cool, make sure that both fans are running, if only one fan is runing the unit never gets cold enough to shut off. If one of the modules is bad its the same story. I took mine apart today, if it was just the little muffin fan I might consider the repair but if anything else is bad, I will junk it out. I disconnected the bad fan and the associated cooling module wires off the control board and am running half cool + hot water, I am not saying to do this, this is what I have done.

The two round "devices" on the tank are the operational thermostat, and the "safety" overtemp thermostat. It is usually the "operational" thermostat that fails, since it has to cycle a lot and arc internally. It is usually about 120-140 degrees F., and the safety thermostat significantly higher.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water cooler

Hello! About 2 weeks ago, the same problem began on my Hamilton Beach water dispenser.
Last week, I called the HB service support, and they told me to do the following reset procedure:

1. Dispense 3 cups from the HOT water side, and also, 3 cups from the COLD water side.
2. Turn BOTH back switches OFF (the ones on the back of the water dispenser).
3. Unplug the dispenser, and LEAVE it unplugged for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, turn the back switches ON and plug it in.
5. Leave it on for 4 hours WITHOUT dispensing any water.

...it's been about 12 hours since I've dispensed water again for the first time, and so far, SO GOOD! I'll update if the problems reappear.

you need to purge the air out of the "hot" side after placing the bottle on top. If not enough water is inside the chamber the water will boil.
