I appears you have a Power on Password, the password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery will not reset or remove the password.

When we plug the ethernet cable from our modem/router into tower. we get no internet. the computer is reading the router, but can't connect wired or wireless? Talked to the router went over all...

I have the same computer and sometimes have the same problems. Try going to Dell.com and update your drivers. It will ask for the service number which should be on a sticker somewhere on the back. If that does not help, right click the internet logo bottom right of your screen and do a diagnose and repair. It will fix the problem for you or tell you want is going on.

I have changed toshiba satellite a100-233 keyboard. now locked to bios password. managed to short c88 solders but still screen appears asking for password. wot to do..?

Firstly power down the system. You will need to unplug the CMOS battery from your motherboard for approx 5-10 minutes, then plug it back in. The CMOS battery looks something like this:

How do i unlock my dell keyboard?

Dell Inspiron 530s keyboard unlock
Is the keyboard usb or ps2? If its usb then try another port. If its ps2(Green) then power down the pc by holding in the power button for 8 to 10 seconds. Pull the plug and make sure no pins are bent. Plug it back in and boot back up. This should fix the problem if its ps2. Regards

Oh boy, you need to call dell for that. the hdd is locked and only dell can give you the password. dont try unknow passwords its not gonna work. the password is related to the secuity of the machine. call dell and they will give you the password. in case by any reason you cant call dell. you need to repalce the hdd then. call dell they will give you the password free.

Blank screen on desktop (dell inspiron 530s); requesting a password.

Someone has turned on the BIOS password on you and therefore the PC will not let you boot up unless you enter the correct password. The problem is you cannot turn off the password option unless you know the password. I would start by asking other people who had access to you computer what they set the password to. If nobody comes clean, then you will have to call Dell Tech Support to get them to reset the password for you. They will give you a master BIOS password to override the one set and turn off the option.

There are 2 types of lock i know

1) computer lock at dos asking for password to boot up

look for a 3 pin or 2 pin cmos jumper and short circuit it.

remove motherboard battery

2) computer is asking for password at windows login screen

for this problem see if you can login to guest account

then go start
