Its the coax. i had this same issue. i thought a bought a great strand but, it was very poor in design and it developed many breaks over time, reducing its transmitting ability. I would also check the mic wire and head connections as well. this is a problem spot at times.

I have a icom 2200h and i can hear everybody talk but as soon as i key the mike up the radio says off

Power to the radio is bad. The radio may stay on and receive, but it does not have enough amperage to transmit. Transmit really gives a workout when you want the radio to transmit. It is equal to starting a car:
lots of power is required to power the transmitter. So bad power supply or connection in your vehicle, bad wiring or undersized wiring. There are more ways to troubleshoot, but this covers 95%. If all connections are good, then it is programming.

I have 4 radios. Initially they all worked together. Now , een on the ame frequency , they do not all pick up the signal? Any ideas why?

These are FRS/GMRS radios. You may have different privacy codes set on the radios. If a receiving radio has a different privacy code than a transmitting radio, you will not hear the transmission. This allows many people to share the 22 channels, but only hear transmission from their party.

Motorola t5720 one buzzes and you can't hear transmission. It transmits to its partner just fine. It just won't receive transmission form its partner, just a loud buzz

Try trading the batteries between the units and see if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace the battery pack. If the problem persists, you have a defect radio, which needs replaced.

Best regards.

ICAN HEAR EVERYBODY BUT I CANT GET OUT I SWITCHED MIKS AND STILL CANT GET OUT people can hear me but when they talk to me all i hear is static

You said that you can hear everybody and then you said all you can hear is static. Which is it?

If you can hear everybody and you have switched to a known good mike, then you either have a bad antenna or you have a bad final amplifier caused by a bad antenna or by having transmitted at sometime without an antenna at all.

Low transmitting range on Cobra MRF55

Hi dstrand, sorry you are having a problem. I will need some more info if you can. Is this radio in a base situation or mobile? Have you had any work don recently? Have you changed anything on the system? (Microphone, antenna, coax, etc)

Haave you checked your swr recently/ If yes, did you use a seperate meter or did you use one built in the radio?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cobra 29 LTD Classic not transmitting or receiving

As I understand from a tech friend of mine, most truck beds are not grounded well enough. Perhaps you could borrow/purchase a magnet mount antenna and locate it on the roof, for testing. Then you would have it narrowed down to the location.

FR60 intermittent transmission

Hello snorker,

It could be battery / power issue. Two-way radios draw much more power when transmitting then receiving. If the batteries are weak the radio might work perfectly fine on receive and then cut-out when you depress the Push-To-Talk.

Best Regards,
Ken
