Go into SETUPand see how the drive is configured. If the detection is set to AUTO and showing incorrectly, manually set the Cylinders, Heads, Sectors and LBA. The information should be on the label on the HDD. Exit and save the changes. The size of the driver should be correct when the OS starts.

Good luck and please let me know how it works out for you.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Laptop shows only 4gb ram & 300 gb hdd

This is the limitation of a 32 bit (x86) Operating System. A 32 bit OS can detect upto 3GB RAM only.

You may either try installing the x64 Bit of XP Operating System or Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 for 32 bit Vista Operation System to resolve the issue.

After installing the SP 1 or 2 of the Vista OS in the Computer, the OS will detect 4GB RAM.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is very possible that your BIOS will not support a large hard drive. Without more information on your system it will be hard to diagnose your problem.

2nd hard drive wont show up correct

Dear,
!. Explore the Device Manager.
2. Select Disk Management. Check both drives are there.
3. If yes, then format the 2nd drive(you can make single or multiple partition) and give it a name. Now you can use it.

Halarious, I had the same problem yet I used norton ghost. At least you still show 160 gb. Mine went all the way to 60 gb. Here is what I had to do to reclaim the lost. I downloaded something called "Magic Boot Disk" It gave me the whole 320 back yet have not found good cloning software yet. Magic Boot Disc is freeware avaliable at http://hddguru.com/content/en/software/2006.02.10-Magic-Boot-Disk/ Good luck cloning
