Question about Singer CE-200 Quantum Futura Computerized Sewing Machine
I have been very successful at my embroidery until yesterday. All of a sudden the needle hits the plate underneath the hoop, the plate that covers the bobbin. I can see scratch marks on the front of the plate at the opening where the needle goes down. When I take the hoop off and move the needle by hand it does not hit anything. I have broken 6 needles. What am I doing that causes this and how can I fix it? I have not done anything differently and am sewing the same type of things I usually do, burp cloths.
I have a Futura 250.
If possible hoop the item. I have found that any item that has any thickness causes the presser foot to be pushed forward and the needle hits it and breaks. If you can press the item to lessen the thickness this may help. I spoke to Singer (I am a Singer dealer) and they did not have any help for this other than to recommend that the owner cut out the back of the foot. I don't think that would be a solution as it would be difficult to cut out the back of the foot and still have smooth edges, also it would cause the foot to be weak and possible break or bend. Good Luck

Some where there is a very small piece of material, more like a piece of dust that One prefents your thread to move freely, if this is the problem clean out your whole machine with air,( it works) Two, the tension casing underneath at the bobbin is out,, remove the casings and clean it out with air and replace, taking care to replace it in the correct manner, otherwise your machine will brake the threads the whole time.
