Yesterday, the extraction was working just fine, when I cleaned the livingroom carpet. Today, after I used the hose and stair-cleaning tool,

I went back to the main floor cleaning/extraction, for the rest of the carpet, and the suction was nearly nil. I removed the extracation tank, to check the connections, and firmly seated it onto the unit. I check the undercarriage for any obstructions. I still only get minimal suction. An area of carpet that yesterday, filled the extraction tank, only produced an inch of dirty water in the extraction tank. What else needs to be cleaned out? Is there another area that could be clogged?

I KNOW THAT IT'S A GUESSING GAME. MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK THE SUGGESTED CHECKS. I THINK THAT THE FRONT PANEL DUCT WAS NOT SEATED TIGHTLY, AS ONE CORNER IS BROKEN OFF THE CLEAR PLASTIC EDGE. WE FIDDLED, POKED, AND REFITTED, AND IT FINALLY WORKED!!!!

THANKS FOR CONFIRMING THAT WE DID THE RIGHT THINGS.

There are several things you can check.
1. make sure that the front panel duct is installed and secure.(was removed to use hose)
2. when installing the lid on the lower tank, hook it on the front and snap securely.
3. check your foam filter in the lower tank lid for obstructions.
4. remove the lower tank and inspect the standpipe seal, ensuring it is in place.

Also verify that your machine actually did dispense solution.

SOURCE: Bissell ProHeat 2X(9200) hose to cleaner solution no suction

There are a couple areas to check:
1. The black gasket where clearview water collecting unit and the base's front meet. Ensure gasket is in good condition.
2. Check if you're getting sufficient suction: remove the water collecting unit. When you turn on the the unit, you'll feel suction out of a black hose pointing upwards next to the grey dial. If you're not getting sufficient suction you need to check that all the gaskets are seated properly. there are 3 gaskets: (1) an orange one seated between the black hose and the base unit (2 and 3): On the bottom of the unit there is a removeable panel. This panel has a gasket (red) and inside there is a white gasket.

There is a knob on the base that says floor and tools. Make sure that it is closing when you switch it to floor, Make sure that the hose works when you use it too. That will tell us what the problem is.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Air filter:
If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt and has no suction the air filter might be clogged. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.
Exhaust Filter If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the exhaust filter might be clogged. Remove and clean the filter, replace it if its torn or damaged.

Vacuum Hose If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum hose might be clogged. Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, stretch it out straight, shine a bright flashlight in one end and try to see light through it. If no light can be seen, use something to run through the hose and free up the obstruction.
Vacuum Bag If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum bag might be full. Clean or replace the bag as recommended by the manufacturer.

Dust Cup AssemblyIf the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the dust cup assembly might not be installed tightly, or it might be cracked or broken. The dust cup must seal tightly in order to produce the right amount of suction. If it is cracked or broken, replace it. Most glues and adhesives will not successfully seal the crack.
Blower Wheel If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and there is no suction, the blower wheel might be jammed or broken. Check the blower wheel to be certain it turns freely. If it doesn't, check to see if there is anything rubbing against it. If not, but it's hard to turn, the motor is most likely the problem.
