Replaced the inverter board and it worked great. Hooked it up to cable and auto channeled then after watching for about 20 min it starts popping in sound and Horizontal lines. Flickering and popping. This only happens on certain channels If I go to 9 for instance it is beautiful flip back same problem on 33 or 37 and others. If i turn it off for 45 seconds and turn it back on somtimes I will have a nice picture for about 20 min then it starts. One more thing when this happens it starts at a low rate then it peaks to popping and unwatchable then it stops and returns back to the begining where it watchable till it peaks again. What would cause this? Main board, T-Con, Connection, getting Hot? Thanks for the help if possible Jkasza1

It would seem that the video processing section is sensitive to heat. You do not indicate how old the set is, so if under a year, it should still be under warranty and you should request warranty service. Provide as many details about when the problem occurs so that it can be reproduced.
If the unit is out of warranty, check to be sure that any fans on the top or botton are free from dust and are turning. Also, you can open up the back and carefully reseat all of the cables and connectors. A bad connection at one of those could show up like this too. If all of that fails to resolve the problem, then the unit will need to be seen by a servicer. There are no user servicable parts inside other than the actual boards and those are not cheap. It is possible that a servicer may spot something that we can not see, being remote and all..
Good luck and keep us posted.

If the tuner is bad, changing the mainboard should fix the problem.

I have come across that problem about 8 times in the past, only solution to your problem is to have the main board replaced.

I have the same set, same problem with one of my MOTOROLA boxes, but not with another. I have a SONY TV that works fine with this new MOTO box, but the new VIZIO does not. The audio is coming through the HDMI cable just fine, and the fact that it works when you cycle power on your TV means it's the SYNC between the TV and the BOX. I have the identical problem and am taking back the MOTO box for another one. I spoke to VIZIO for about 45 minutes trying different things. They think it's the MOTOROLA box, COX (my cable company) thinks it's this particular box, who knows.
