Hi....

You can use any brand but you need to be careful about how you connect the speakers....Say if theyre 8 ohms and you put 2 in parallel
then they equal 4 ohms etc.
If you put two 8 ohm in series they'll equal 16 ohms.
I would go to EV's website for more on speaker connections

How do I hook-up 2 center channel speakers to a single center channel amplifier output?

Since you have Only one common main output, you can hook up your speaker, its either in series or parallel connection depending on the impedance in your amplifier, impedance in OHMS,(8ohms/4 ohms/16 ohms) please see the impedance level at the speaker terminals of your amplifier,
Thank you,

Integrated amplifier for Mordaunt-Short Avant 908i

Use an amplifier with NO MORE than 150 Watts per channel or you be buying new speakers. At this power level don't expect booming bass boost without damaging the speakers. The Rotel generates 130 per side which is very near the safe maximum for those speakers... and the specs look good. If you are not satified with the sound, the speakers are LIKELY the problem. Look at getting good commercial speaakers instead of CONSUMER grade speakers. Go to a music store dealing with bands and musicians and view the products they have to offer. Consumer speakers often fail when people turn up too much bass. At high listening levels hearing damage can result.

What speakers can i used for technics su-v55a

Hi and welcome to the site,

The specifications prescribes:
  • 4 ~ 16 ohms if either MAIN or REMOTE is used;
  • 8 ~ 16 ohms if both MAIN and REMOTE are used at the same time.

Offhand, any 8 ohms speaker rated at 60 ~ 100 watts would be compatible.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

CROWN CE1000- slips into fault immediately after connection

if ur output power amp is defective u will have that problem - meaning the moment u connect load across it it will go into circuit protection to limit/stop excessive output current. make sure the speaker terminals are connected to +/- output terminals. in bridge mode use only channel 1 and that too with 4 ohms speaker only otherwise amp will clip. considering all connections are okay if it still clips when speaker is connected, u have a faulty power amp section. this the way ur amp is designed

I hope you can help:-) I have a Realistic 35 watt solid state P.A. amplifier and on the back of the amp is this: 70V 16 8 4 COM There are holes under them for wires, how do I hook up the speakers to this...

This would depend on if you are using 4,8,16 ohm speakers or a 70v system.

For regular speakers the (-) wire would go to the COM terminal
the (+) would go to either the 4,8 or 16 ohm terminal (Check on the speaker itself for the "impedance").

If more then one speaker is used then there is some other math involved, but i can help with that.

The 70V terminal is used when powering a bunch of celing speakers like in stores and malls. Each speaker has its own transformer on it, all the transformers are connected togeather in a chain and wired to the COM and 70V terminals.

If so that may mean that the surround speakers arent all connected right.

Which speakers can I use?

You can use any wattage speakers as long as they are not less than the watts from your amp. However you can still use lower wattage speakers as long as you don't turn up the volume full or two loud! Otherwise your damage the speaker.
HOWEVER you must get the ohms matched up right. You must never connect any speaker with a low Ohm to a high rated amp. Or you will blow the output stage transistors or IC.
Most Amps are 8 ohms, so you could connect an 8 or 16 etc, but not a 4 ohm.

Need assistance on audio setup

Hi An2nymous07

For office system AV gear, your best bet is talk to a decent AV company. If they are any good will send out a guy to do up a quote on supply and install. It shouldn't cost you for the quote. Go to at least 2 companies, and compare prices. The reason you need to do this, is the price ranges from a few hundred dollars, to $200,000. The price is set by exactly what you want to to do, and the performance you need,

Bose amplifier does not work with a 6 speaker selector

your wall speakers may not be connected.... disconnect each speaker from the selector box and test with a small AAA battery to see if they are connected by putting the battery between each speaker's wires , you will hear it crackle ,then gradually connect each wall speaker onto the speaker connector box . If the first set does not work i suggest there may be a problem with your speaker selector box . Good luck
