Hello narensg

In order to be able to run a program (EXE) in a computer, that computer must have Visual Basic RUNTIME MODULES.

please tell your friend to install this runtime modules:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/install/6/win98me/en-us/vbrun60.exe

after installing this package, he will be able to run your program.

Kind regards,
Jerry H.

How we can create module in the project

Hi,
it depends on how you define "module". Defining VB .NET modules is simply done by writing:
Module YourModuleName
' TODO : Add your code
End Module
Is that what you meant? There is also a template available in the new file dialog under the VB category. Calgary Website Design Firm Agua Web

How can you crate setup file or .exe using QT platform

We are developing software but we are unable to run in others PC/Computer. As we know that QT is Platform Independent and Open source Software, which is use Nokia to develop Mobile Application.

Needs:
  • Qt
  • Setup creator
  • libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll
  • mingwm10.dll
  • QtGuid4.dll
  • QtCored4.dll

Procedure:
  • When you start a project then automatically qt creates 2 folders within main Directory. One is "Debug" and another is "release".
  • If we are want to run application in other PC then we need ".dll" files and combined them.
  • Open My Computer and go to the "Installation Drive" where QT is installed.
  • Find out the Main Directory of the QT. If you install in "c:" then go to the c drive and open "qt" folder and get a directory name as "2010.01"
  • When you open "2010.01", then you can see another directory as "qt" open it.
  • You click on Search option from the "Standard Button" bar and type the libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll file and search it. When you find it copy the file and paste into your Project Directory's "Debug" folder. Do same things for another three ".dll" files.
  • After that you can run your application by the .exe file. Does not need to open Qt and open your project then run.
  • Now you can simply copy the project Directory and paste into other PC and open Directory and run it.
  • Or you can create a shortcut on the desktop as others software. From where you can run it by Click.

Deploy and Packaging:

If you want to create a setup file as other software, need to install it. Then -
  • First download a file "icinst", it's free. After that install it.
  • After that open it from start programs and windows will be come where you select your Project Directory and do "Next".
  • You can create a License Agreement as others software.
  • Do as per the given Instruction.

Note: Before create a setup file you must be collect all dll files and paste in "debug" folder

Codes of c++

Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 is an integrated development environment, or IDE, released by Microsoft in 1998. An IDE allows the user to create a computer application by using pre-designed functions, tools and other resources. Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 features a source code editor, a compiler, a debugger and graphical user interface.

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 on your computer. The installation process is fairly simple. Just follow the prompts. Run the program. A window will appear asking you to create a new application. On the "Project" tab, choose "Win32 Console Application." This means that you will create an application with an EXE file extension that can work with 32-bit Windows operating systems after compiling the project. Also, specify the project's name and the location where it will be saved. Click "OK." Click"OK" in the dialog box that will appear next. You will choose to start an open project. Double-click on the form in the center of the screen. Type: #include <iostream.h> int main() { cout <<"This is my first project!!! Hello everybody! \n" return 0; } Press "F5." This will build and run the project. Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 will compile your project into an EXE file. Then it will open this file. You will see a new window open in which you'll see your greeting, " This is my first project!!! Hello everybody!" Press any key to exit the application. http://elvis.rowan.edu/~kay/cpp/vc6_tutorial/ http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualc/ee340952.aspx

I was on-line Monday with knkcook (if i rememvber correctly). I was waiting while he was looking for an answer. Then the system cut us off and it wouldn't re-connect with him. I am having a problem...

Hi
  1. Insert your Windows 2000 CD into your computer's CD drive.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to "Valueadd\3rdparty\Mgmt\Winstle\Swiadmle.msi" on the Windows 2000 CD.
  3. Double-click the MSI file to install the Veritas Software Console. Specify an installation location that will be accessible by the clean PC creating the installation package.
  4. Navigate to the file named "Discoz.exe" in the WINStall folder, then double-click this file to execute the Discover tool.
  5. Click the "Before" snapshot and select the clean PC. Click "OK." Discover will take a snapshot of the clean PC before installation of the third-party application.
  6. Install the third-party application onto the clean PC and reboot the computer. Run the newly installed application on the PC to ensure that installation was successful. Quit the program, once verified.
  7. Launch the Discover application.
  8. Click the "After" snapshot option, and select the PC again. Click "OK." Discover will take a snapshot of the PC after the installation of the third-party application. In doing so, all data that has changed is recorded and compiled into an MSI file. This data includes files, registry entries and edits to settings necessary to install the application.
Lastly
Copy the MSI file to another computer and test the installation package by installing the software.

Problems with VB6 Make .EXE command:

I guess your compiling logs are absent, or have been corrupted, which are only used to when you publish/make an executable.

To Confirm this, Make your EXE through Command Line Compiler, and How See this

If its still not working and your Project is important, then make a blank project and copy paste all Source and Objects there.

Waqar.

HOW 2 OPEN RUNTIME PDF FILE IN VB 6.0?

A pdf file is a text document and can't be 'opened' as such in VB. Try copying all the text in the pdf file, open VB, start new project, and paste.

My vb proj.works in my pc bu not in the org. for it has been made

Hi,

You should use Package & Deployment wizard (its there in visual studio 6 only under menu)
Create a package, include all dependencies, include database file (i guess you are using msaccess)
Once the package is created, go to Deployment wizard, to include the package created, you'll then get one Setup (as usually softwares are packaged)

If you go like this, you dont have to worry about the dependencies in your project or any runtime lib that might required.
It will work anywhere where you install your software like u usually install others.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

VB setup/packaging

I would suggest the visual studio installer. It is great for Visual Basic installs and it will package all the components your app uses automatically by scanning the project for dependencies. Highly recommended.

1. IDE is Integrated Development Environment
2.With VB 6, one can develop applications with feature rich GUIs (Graphical User Interface). Many varieties of general purpose software can be created with little effort, including, but not limited to, image editing software, text editor and database applications.

Used to create Windows-based applications that run locally on users' machines. You can build anything from a simple single-window tool like Windows Calculator to a complete application with multiple windows and advanced capabilities.

Class Library Template
-----------------------------------------
Used to create reusable classes or components that can be shared with other projects.

Console Application Template
----------------------------------------------------
Used to create command-line applications, programs that run from a Windows command prompt and have no visual interface.

My Movie Collection Starter Kit Template

5.Description
Used at script level to force explicit declaration of all variables in that script.
Syntax
------------
Option Explicit
Remarks
----------------
If used, the Option Explicit statement must appear in a script before any procedures.
When you use the Option Explicit statement, you must explicitly declare all variables using the Dim, Private, Public, or ReDim statements. If you attempt to use an undeclared variable name, an error occurs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use Option Explicit to avoid incorrectly typing the name of an existing variable or to avoid confusion in code where the scope of the variable is not clear.
