Which radio wires go where? 2003 Chevy Cavalier

red=hot/power, black-ground/negative,orange or yellow usually = remote wire for an amp or interior as far as the speaker wires go,strip the wires on the new radio and just touch different wires from in the dash to ONLY the speaker wires on the back of the radio, thats not the best solution ever given but it's what i have always done in that position.

I need a radio diagram for a 2000 ford taurus so I am able to hook the right colors together.

Go buy a wiring kit from autozone or walmart....Just look up your year of car and it clicks right into your factory wiring...Then all you have to do is color code your wires fromm the stereo that you're putting in.

Hi there ..first of all awsome site ..I have 89 BMW 535i with Stock Radio..and Im trying to Install SonyCdxGt220 Cd Deck..DO i need a harness ?? or should just hook up the wires with no harness ??

Harness are really neat to have since they usually are color coded and after you hook them up to your new radio, they plug right into your existing harness. You could do it the other way, but unless you solder everything...after serveral bumps things will stop working right.

Need full radio wiring diagram for 93 geo prizm

Hello cr1ms0nchaos,

Here is a link to the12volt.com website page that has the wiring color codes for a '93 Geo Prizm.

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/961.html

I don't know if this is the diagram you followed or not, but I've never had any problem with their information. If you are using an aftermarket wiring harness, make sure that the function of each wire coming from your receiver matches up with the correct color for the stock radio.

Of course it could be that you have the wiring correct and just have a defective unit.

Hope this helps.

After market stereo install

you will need to get a cord that connects to the sterio and then you need to match them up with these wires
the colors for the radio that are hooked up to the car are
  • orange is power
  • red is egnition
  • blue is power antena
  • black is ground
other ones will most likely be the sterio wires you just need to find colors that look a like and they will most likely match

hope this helps
