Use an 'alcowipe' available from your local chemist.
The alcohol in the wipe will disolve the glue and will not affect your windscreen.

Aternatively get a bottle of 'Spirit Alcohol', also available from the chemists and use a cloth to dissolve the glue

I put the adhesive mounting disk on the windshield. Oh my god! I didn't know it 's permanent. How can i remove that ? Please help me.

Goo Gone, mineral spirits, kerosene, or if you're really ********** and want drastic results, lacquer thinner which will probably melt and take the cheap plastic vinyl and whatever else off your automobile too, but hey the mounting disk and any adhesive residue is GONE. - LOL

Hi, What you have is 'device' code.

What you need is a 'product' code.
See here about how to find that out: http://www.ttcode.com/help/help.find.product.code.php?strLanguage=eng

Once you have it. Click here to get the activation code: http://www.ttcode.com/index.php?strLanguage=eng

which is what the device is asking for... :)

How do I install the tomtom in my car. It cam with a big round disk with adhesive on back that I assume goes on dash or window.. But ho do I mount the tom tom to that disk? The modle did not come with...

Some TOMTOM have the EasyFold attachment: It has a large ring that you push against the back of the GPS while twisting it a bit. In some TT GPS, notably the GO series, the windshield or dashboard attachment ends in a rectangular shaped piece that slides on the back where the speaker is located.

I just recieved a reconditioned XL330-S and wonder if the soft rubber disc on the back of the mounting bracket is supposed to be mounted on the windshield? If so how, it doesn't have any adhesive on it.

its not suppose to have any adhesive on it. not sure with one (mount ) tomtom gave you with your unit (they have a few differant ones) but if its the one that looks like the one pictured below, you just press it on the windshield(make sure its good and clean)

that is absolutely the worst mount them make, normally they wont stay on long and your gps will fall off and hit the floor and most likely damage it.

you should of gotten a black plastic disk to use to put under the mount for good adhesion .

There is a black disc but I do not see any instructions for using it.Does it mount on the windshield?

my Magellen came with a black disk with adhesive on 1 side. Intended to be adhered to any smooth surface (e.g., windshield). The mount for my unit includes a suction cup. So, mount black disk to windshield and attach suction cup to smooth side of black disk. Be sure disk is positioned where suction cup and bracket and GPS will have sufficient room to mount everything.

The tom tom mounting for the windscreen keeps fallng off

I have had the same problem a few times. The only thing that seems to help me is to put the mount on the windshield first, ensuring that I push it firmly into place, and then slide the gps unit into it.

Adhesive on screen

Rubbing alcohol or a soapy water solution using a soft cloth or paper towel would work fine without scratching your screen

I just bought the magellan maestro, and I can't get the suction cup to stick. The surface is clean and we wet it, but it loosens rapidly.

The GPS unit comes with an adhesive disk that must be installed on the surface where you want to place the GPS unit. The suction cup will only work with this adhesive disk. Once the adhesive disk is installed, the suction cup will hold. Here's the instructions magellan web site...

  1. Clean and dry the dashboard where the adhesive disk is going to be installed using enclosed alcohol pad.
  2. Remove the protective paper cover from the bottom of the adhesive disk; place the bottom of the adhesive disk firmly on the dashboard.
  3. Apply even pressure on the top of the adhesive disk for a secure fit (Allow 24 hours to cure).
  4. Place suction cup mount on top of adhesive disk.
  5. Firmly press suction cup mount down flat against the adhesive disk, press the suction cup lever down to secure the suction cup to the adhesive disk.

Dash board mount

you can buy a heavy duty double adhesive tape, or use a permanent adhesive, or mighty bond onto your dash board since the gps is still removable
