OK with your left trigger it sounds like that you have a bad solder joint meaning that the solder connection has broken. Easy fix if you are good with soldering. Just open the DS find the button that is giving you problems and re-solder the connection. As for the right trigger, while you have the DS apart take some rubbing alcohol and a swab and wipe the area with the alcohol and clean with a soft towel like toilet paper or a napkin.

The answer would apply good to just about any controller or hand held game. Just becareful with the springs in the triggers. They can be a pain if this is the first time taking it apart.

One PS2 controller doesn't work good and screws my other one

This is usually a matter of cleaning. If the nodes on either your controller end or the system itself are dirty you could have a bad connection that would cause your controller to all kinds of wacky stuff. Use some cleaner like alcohol and a q-tip and clean the ends. If that doesn't work your proabably better off buying a new controler then trying to fix it.

Sinking 360x box controller

If standard instructions aren't working, try again with the controller fully charged, or remove the xbox's faceplate -- then try sync'ing again. Some non-standard faceplates are too reflective to allow the sync to take place

Hi,
If you are using a play and charge kit, remove the cable and try again.
have a look into the usb ports on the front right of the console, make sure non of the pins are touching, this will cause a short so the console will not turn on.
Thumbs up if this helps.
If not ,comment.

The touch screen isn't responding very well, sometimes it will react to a tap but mostly the screen is non responsive, the keys work ok when scrolling on a menu screen. any ideas?

first try to calibrate the touch screen.Take all games out turn on then go to the very small ds on the bottom touch screen. If you can't touch it move it with the cross down then hit a. Then select the option all the way to the right it looks like cross hairs that's the calibration screen fallow instructions. If that doesn't fix it it could be a broken screen or a loose ribbon.

Will not power up at all

What colour is the light on the power brick, red means it has overheated, turn it off, let it cool and make sure it has plenty of ventilation, if its still red you need to use another.
If the power brick light on the power brick is orange, have a look into the usb ports to the right hand side of the console, make sure that non of the contacts are touching, just bend them back.
If non of these work it could be a resistor inside the box.
Remember thumbs up if this helps.

First try to recalibrate the screen (start up the DS, and do the following--text from nintendo.com):
  1. Remove all games from the Nintendo DS.

  2. Turn the system on by pressing the POWER button.

  3. Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears.

  4. When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button.

  5. Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button.

  6. Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves.

    • You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start.
    • Ifthe touch screen is not responding properly, hold the Nintendo DS at anangle so that you can see where the edges of the Touch Screen meet thehousing of the system. Look around the entire edge of the Touch Screenfor any foreign material (such as crumbs, etc.) that may be wedged inbetween the Touch Screen and the housing of the DS. Foreign material inthis area can cause the Touch Screen to work incorrectly.
If the screen still does not work, you need to buy a new touchscreen. Many vendors sell these, here's an example:

You will need a good tri-wing screwdriver to do this repair (don't buy a cheap knockoff--they will strip your screws). Try one like this: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-1e-49-en-15-tri_wing-70-1fe.html

Then follow the step by step tutorial at:

Want to connect non wireless remote controls to console

No this is not true. you can purchase wired controllers for the PS3 usually at a greatly reduced price than the wireless models. Most larger PS3 retailers should have stock of wired control pads so it would pay to do some more ringing around

Hope this has helped
