Go to start and click on run type CMD
once you get to the command com type ipconfig see if you are getting an IP address. If it says request timed out, you are not connected to the Internet or your home or office network. Go to start and click on my network places...
On the left hand side click on view network connections, make sure your Local Area connection is not disabled. Let me know what you find out, we'll take it from there.

I use cell phone for internet, but some even thought i am connected to internet, but i cannot access any website or internet. browser shows msg web page not found. i am using win Xp. i am samsung cell

If you are getting "web page not found" error message, then you are not connected to the internet. Are you using PdaNet as the tethering program? You should have this installed on both the phone and your computer.

Tip

Error 404

Hi.

404 error page not found means that the computer is connected to the Internet, but that it cannot find the page linked to the domain name (that www.something.com, aka URL), or linked to the IP address typed into the browser (eg. Internet Explorer) address bar.

The error is usually displayed because of either one of the following reasons:

1) The web page does not exist or the website does not work. In this case the web page requested will return error 404 from any computer. Test using at list two different computers and two different network connections.

This usually translates in one of the following:

You wrote the URL in the wrong way.

The web page requested does not exist.

The web server hosting the website is down.

The domain name is not linked to the website anymore (setting problems or subscription expired)

2) Your computer's DNS or network settings are wrong. In this case the web page requested will return error 404 from this computer. The same page will be displayed using a different computer or network. One example of this situation is when some malaware disables access to Websites like Microsoft by changing DNS service. If this is the case the same page will be displayed using other computers, but you will get error 404 with this particular computer.

If this is the case, ensure that you have installed an efficient and updated antivirus. Run a virus scan.
If that is not enough to fix the problem, try the following reset:

1- Click Start >> Run >> regsvr32 /i browseui.dll>> enter

A dialog box with a confirmation message will be displayed. Click OK.

2- Click Start >> Run >> regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

Wait for the dialog box, then click OK.

Regards.

Ginko.

when you update window fist the file activex install
then activex control search which files are not available on your system ,then it listed these files
after that try to down load these files from the web site,

when your system tries to down load these files from web site ,due to lack of proper internet speed,

please contact with your isp provider for increasing internet speed.

You need to make a check on these
  • Make sure you are not using an older version of internet explorer [Try Google Chrome].Or simply update to the latest one.
  • Make sure that your browser is allowing cookies this is how u do it
    1. Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
    2. Click the Privacy tab.
    3. Click the Sites... button and type www.orkut.com in the 'Address of Web site' section. (You won't see the Sites... button if you choose 'Block all cookies.
    4. Click Allow
    5. Click OK.
  1. This would solve the issue.

'Create new website' link on synthasite.com fails to open

It could be a DNS problem.
Goto Start > Run. . . > Type in "cmd" (without the quotes), hit enter or ok.

Type in "ipconfig /all", and look in there besides DNS Servers, if there is not one listed that would be your problem.

If that is not it try Control Panel>internet options>Programs> hit Reset Web Settings

Please tell the results and I will continue to help you the best I can if this is not it.

Hi, Have you checked your security permissions on the 2003 IIS ?

Are the users using it as Intranet or Internet?

Is the site internal/external or possibly firewalled with rules restricting correct port operation and access permissions?
