Hi im josh in cebu phils may i help you?Unfortunately, this could be for any number of reasons related to software, hardware, or both. In my experience I would say this is likely a hardware issue. More specifically, bad memory or your system is overheating. (On issues like this I tend to lean towards hardware, especially if you haven?t installed or updated any software recently, - but do check for virus also) hope i helped you good luck

Restart computer even when bios is open

Check your Processor cooling system. If the cooling is not proper or if the processor is not working properly then the system will restart on its own with in few minutes of boot up process. Also check if there is any infection.

My computer is restarting over and over....It's stating that a program has unexpectedly shutdown and that windows needs to restart. It's a HP laptop

If it gets into windows and then shutsdown after a very short time. Then start it again and click on the start menu A.S.A.P. click on the run command and enter:
shutdown -a
Then O.K.

If it no longer shuts down after typeing in that command then you have a virus and need toi run anti-virus software to clean it out. If this is the case then you also have the virus in some of your restore points and they need to be cleaned out as well.

Good luck. Be more specific about at what point it starts to restart.

Unsuccessful memory upgrade

I work on GX 620 dells alot. I work on them for a school district.

They have alot of issues. Particularly with memory issues, try reseating the memory or trying a different memory slot. You shouldnt have to under clock it. Just run it as normal.

If it beeps on start up, then its probably a memory problem. The dell website has online support and will give you a list of dell beep codes

you can type in your dell service tag number located on the back, or just picking out the model.

Try using just using the new memory stick by itself without the old ones.

If your computer came with a disk ( it should) It either Blue or Black, if its black, boot from cd and it will load a test program, try using that to check that the memory is good. If its blue then its older and just lets you re-install windows.

If its looping, where it gives you a black screen with options to boot in safe mode but restarts no matter what option you pick.

Load the windows cd like your going to re-install, Boot from cd ( F12 ) on boot, pick boot cd drive and when it loads, pick ( R) for repair and when it goes to command prompt, type in. ( chkdsk C: /p ) exactly like that

it will run a repair. When done, type EXIT and hit enter.

When it restarts, remove the disk and see if it gives you the option again to pick how to start windows.

Pick ( star windows normally ) see if this works.

If the repair works then it wasnt the memory as much as it was just Dells Crappy hardware configuration.

Let me know what happens and i can try to help you further.

It could be a bad memory stick that you happened to get.

Good luck.
