No browser on blackberry 7290

I just bought a blackberry 7290 on ebay and when i got it, it didnt have all of the programs on it. i dont have brickbreaker or a browser. the lady that sold it to me said she didnt put everything on it cuz everyone likes to customize thier own phones. I went to the blackberry site and downloaded the desktop manager but when i hook up my phone and try to install the programs, the desktop manager says that it does not have software for the device. How can I find the software to put all the programs on my phone?

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software (5.0.1) from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

then, download and install the latest Handheld Software for your model then open Desktop Manager and run the application loader once the USB cable is connected to the device. 7290 Software located here https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=1905AEDAB9BF2477EDC068A355BBA31A&dl=FD24D5ADEE0AB484E56285E9689CDAC8

Just fill out the form and the software download is free.

No signal and no browser configuration.

For the signal you may need to power off, remove the battery leave for 30 seconds, reinsert battery and power on.

For radio connections, goto manage connections/ radio settings and turn it off.

Select Network connections and Automatic.

For browser settings, your network provider will send you the config details to save to your device to enable browsing.

Can't Access the Internet

send yourself an email with a web site link. Click the link in the body of the message, and hopefully a web browser application will open up and take you there.

also, from the desktop of the blackberry, press "alt' and 'select' (select on the jog dial). you will see a 'show all' option. The web browsing icon may be "hidden".

Locked.

"blackberry" is often the code. However, I believe the user locked it up and has their own code to lock/unlock.

get in touch with the seller... ask them for the code... :)

Wnt let me make a call out

It sounds like the device was originally activated and worked with a Blackberry enterprise Server, where the administrator had voice calls blocked for the users, so that they did not run up bills - in other words, it was programmed just to do email. If this is the situation, there may not be a solution available to you.

Call your phone carrier and ask them to help - make sure you have the correct "plan"...
