Question about QVS NetStar (UPS650A) UPS System

Open Question

I don't know if my Netstar 600 is working or not

Sometimes when I turn on my UPS it will beep then the yellow led will come on for a second then turn to a blinking green led,and sometimes it will beep and the yellow led comes on for a second then turn to red.I tested the battery it has a full charge @ 12.82 volts. That's good right? {battery} I am very good with electronics,I know how to trouble shoot almost anything. My old UPS blew 2 dioids and I replaced them with 2 others and it worked like new.I received the Netstar 600 not a 650,from a friend so I sold my old UPS cause I thought that this was a much better one.I did check the fuses{2}they are good, I tested them with a meter. This model was made in 12-18-98.I did plug in a small radio with no results, it works on electric and battey {radio}.It should of worked right?I did un plug the unit first. The motherboard isn't burnt out, you know how circuit boards have that weird awfull smell when they burn out?............O.K.........Plugged in the unit green led stays on solid no blinking.Plugged in to the back the radio works when the power is on. When I unplug the unit from the back {Power plug} the radio turns off and the green led turns to red no blinking. For some reason I am not gettng power to my 2 plugs on the back {Monitor and PC} I would assume. Is it possible to receive a handbook on the Netstar 600 please? And what will it cost? What I mean is a detailed printout of the interior mechanism so if there is any thing wrong with the unit I can fix or replace the faulty part. Or maby the wiring to the external plugs could be wrong? But, why would I be getting power to the plugs when the power cord is plugged in and not when the plug is out? It's not worth it to me to send the unit to a repair shop and pay someone to fix it, when I know that I can fix or replace the parts myself.

SOURCE: New battery will not recharge

Don't turn it off, the battery needs to be constantly charged or refreshed. They will go bad just sitting around with no voltage applied. The UPS draws very little power and has surge protection so there is very little to worry about.

Error light in my apc smart ups sc 1500va ups

1. Four beeps every 30seconds (On Battery LED will be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the Battery PowerSupplied outlets are now supplying battery power as opposed to power from theutility. If the UPS determines that the input utility power is unsafe for yourcomputer equipment, the UPS will switch to battery power.
Note: Ifthe power disturbance is brief, you may only hear one or two beeps.

2. Continuous Beeping (On Battery LED will beilluminated)
This alarm indicates that a Low Batterycondition has been reached and that the UPS will soon shutdown. Once the UPStransfers to On Battery operation, it can only stay on battery for a limitedamount of time. The UPS will sound this alarm about two minutes before thebatteries are totally exhausted. Once exhausted, the UPS will shutdown and turnoff its output power to your equipment. If you hear this tone you shouldimmediately shutdown your computer to prevent data loss or corruption.

3. Continuous Beeps for 30 seconds (BackUPS OFFICE 250 and 280 ONLY)
This alarm indicates the unit has detected anOverload condition after it has performed a self-test during start-up.

4. Continuous Two-Tone Beep
This alarm indicates a severe Overload wasdetected while the unit was on-battery operation. This tone will continue tosound until the unit shuts down.

5. Continuous Tone (On Battery LED will beflashing)
This alarm indicates that the battery-poweredoutlets are overloaded.

6. Continuous Tone (On Line and On BatteryLEDs flashing) Back UPS OFFICE 350,400, and 500 ONLY
This alarm indicates that an internal UPS faulthas occurred.

My numeric 600 plus ups swithched off automatiocally when power goes off not a single second back up its provided

Did it work before?

If so, then it has developed a fault. Check the battery fault light on the UPS panel. Perhaps it's battery is dead, or batery charging circuitry is faulty. Anyway, it would most probably need professional attention by a serviceperson.

If it did not, double check whether you have connected the computer etc. to the proper sockets - many UPS devices have a couple of UPS-powered sockets plus additional sockets with surge protection only (no UPS power!) for high power devices like laser printers etc.

Please come back and leave a rating/testimonial if helped or post a comment for further assistance.

The unit beeps

I am getting these directly from the user manual (available here: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z7VAQ_R3_EN.pdf)

Issue: On Battery - UPS is supplying battery power to the load connected to the Battery outlets.

Visual Indication: Power On LED - ON (off during beep)

Audible Indication: Beeping 4 times every 30 seconds

Stops When: UPS transfers back to Power On operation, or when UPS is turned off.

- OR -

Issue: Sleep Mode - During On Battery operation the battery power has been completely exhausted and the UPS is waiting for utility
power to return to normal.

Visual Indication: None

Audible Indication: Beeping once every 4 seconds

Stops When: Utility power is restored, or if utility power is not
restored within 32 seconds, or the UPS is turned off.

All other issues are CONSTANT tones, which you did not specify, or there are no audible tones associated with it.
