Question about Pioneer DEH-P4000UB CD Player

My pioneer head unit cuts the audio signal to my speakers

I recently had a sound system installed in my car,

Pioneer head unit.

JL Audio front splits
JL Audio rear speaker

JL Audio Sub & AMp.

any way occassionally the speakers cut out completely. my original thought was that the connections on the rear of the head unit were faulty but that was not the case, wen the speakers do cut out the sub remains operating so my thoughts now are that it is the amp inside the head unit, the speakers will come back after a while and sometimes after a few bumbs in the road, does any one have any ideas for me,

i really want to be able to take care of this myself without having to go through all the **** / time / money of going to a store. any thoughts would be great

3 things make sure all the speakers in the car have tape to avoid grounding the speakers
next make sure all wires in back of unit are taped
if all that is taped good its the amp over loading use a larger ground wire to fix this
hope this helped

Tip

Never Cut The Stock Harness.

The best advise I can give and the worst mistake you can make while trying to install a new head unit into a car is DO NOT CUT THE STOCK HARNESS.

New head units come with bare harness with just wire ends, so you may think you need to cut off the harness on the car to wire it in.

This is the worst thing you can do. As a matter of fact, it is a bad Idea to cut any harness for anything in your car as they make wiring harness adapters to fit every thing in your car.

Before you install your head unit, go to Best Buy, or any car audio place, or on the internet and get a harness to suit the install. For instance if you have a pioneer head unit, and a 2007 Honda, you want a pioneer to 07 Honda wiring harness. This will allow your head unit to connect right into the stock wiring harness.

The same can be done for the speakers as well.

Why would only 5 of 6 speakers work after new head unit car audio install?

Either that speaker is not connected or, the speaker is blown. To test: Disconnect that speaker from the stereo and, using a 9volt battery, tap the speaker's + and - to the battery's + and -. You should hear a "pop". That would indicate that the speaker works. DO NOT connect the 9 volt battery to the stereo side of the speaker wire!!!! 3_24_2016_7_22_43_pm.png

Installing a pioneer home theatre dvd/speaker system.

On page 36 of the Pioneer users manual, it describes how to set your audio for HDMI interconnect. Follow the directions, and hopefully it will work. You can down load the manual from the Pioneer web site. Google "speaker system HTZ171 DVD". Click on the Pioneer site for your system and look for the download on the right side of page.
I hope this was helpful...

No Audio when disconnect from external amp and hook to speakers

In a radio like your Pioneer and all similar units there are always a pre-amp circuit that feeds a power amp circuit,In some players there are more than one pre-amp circiuts. It is possible and highly probable that the power amp circuit in your Pioneer is shorted, so you still get some audio output , but very little. I believe this is your problem and I suggest that you bring it to a repair shop for an estimate or replace the unit. Good luck and please rate this answer, Thanks.

Pioneer car sttereo without manual. front speakers work but rear speakers silent

Press the audio button (A button in right hand upper corner) till you see FADE or BAL press the up down or left right arrows to adjust the fade and balance till all your speakers work.

If they still dont work, check the wiring at the speaker and the wiring behind the head unit to make sure their properly intact and properly grounded.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.
