I tried to tilt the machine to see why is the motor not turning nor spining. I have a ge top load washer machine.

i saw under and it has a big disk, a belt going around a very small shaft. I presume this is turning. Why the inside does not move/agitate. I found this paper on the panel that has all this codes and suff. it seems to be usefull. im going to read it. It has the motor codes on the back of it as well.

Tilt the machine back and check to make sure the belt underneath did not fall off. Best of luck Arturo!

GE WBB4500EWW top loader washer fills with water but does agitate...

if you can access the motor, there is a LED light on top that will blink a series of blinks. There is a tech sheet located behind the control panel that will tell you what the blinks mean, what checks to perform or what parts to replace.

Will not spin or agitate

did the washer cause the flood? you could have got water into the motor if it was above a few inches deep. do you hear the motor working, and no agitator movement? will it fill ? or is it just dead?

Machine does not drain and spin at end of cicle It is a LG top loader washing machine model R852

Your motor clutch is bad. That controls on the motor along with the timer on a washer from going to spin or agitate.

Does not agitate or spin

Let me make sure I hear your symtoms right..

The washer fills...sound like the motor is running but it doesn't agitate or spin.. then when it tries to drain it bascially gravity feeds out until there is no longer enough water to force it out?

Sounds like the belt is off, or broken.. I am not all that familiar with your model, but I think most GE's are belt drive.

If it were the agitator coupler, the washer would probably still drain..

Pull the front cover off of the washer, you will see the belt and pulleys, make sure it is A: still on the pulleys, and B: tight.

If not, loosen the four bolts on the moter, put the belt on and then slide the motor towards the rear to tighten it.. then tighten the four bolts. They may simply have not tightened the bolts on the motor from factory and the motor slid back loosening the drive belt.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Washer filles with water can hear timmer then drains never spins

you have transmission problems. When your washer is empty and off you should be able to turnthe agitator by hand if you can't then the transmission is bad.

Ge top loader washer agitator does not work

To check the agitator. Start the washer into wash cycle. Once started Push down on top of agitator. If it catches some times or all of the time when pushing down, then then doggets are worn, under the agitator. You`ll have to remove the agitator to see these. If by pushing down on the agitator, nothing changes, Then you probably have a transmition problem. Check this and let me know what you find.
