Hi and welcome to FixYa.
Take the disk out and restart the computer. Put the disk back in and it should try to install again. If not, let me know.

- Okie dokie. Hmmm.
Since you had the pc fixed is it up to date with all the updates and service packs? Let me know. I'll stay with you until we get this worked out.

- Hi Jenny,
I need to know what version of Windows you're using.
Also, I'm just curious, are you making sure that the camera is off before you plug it in?
RobFeb 25, 2009
- Ok, try this. Uninstall the driver. Restart the computer.
Now, without the driver, plug in the camera and turn the camera on. Find out if you can see the camera in My Computer.
(I'm try to find out if you have the correct driver, and if in fact needs a driver). XP has many drivers and it might do the job by itself. Let me know, and I'll go check on the software for you.

- Hi Jenny, we don't work by remote assistance here. Unless you want to pay for a chat. If you go with chat assistance, then you will work with someone else. If you don't mind that, and you don't mind paying for it, then that may be the way to go for you.
In my last post prior to this one, I left you the website for philips. It is the manufacturers website so there is no mirror. It's easy, just click on the blue download button, and choose to save the file. Make sure you save it to a place you can find it easy...like the desktop. Let me know in a comment.

- Don't worry Jen, you won't lose me here. We'll keep working at it until we figure it out. You are not going to get charged for posting in the free section like this. Enjoy your dinner and get back to me when you can.
Also, If you get that choice of either modify, repair, or remove again, choose remove. Then restart your computer and install it again.

- Good Morning Jen,
Glad we got that driver fixed. As for the software, you can check around on the Philips site for that, but here is how to access your pictures without it.
Do this: (always make sure your camera is off before you do this.)
Plug the camera into the computer. Turn the camera on.
Go to my computer. You should see the camera listed as a removeable drive. Double click on it and you should see a folder (not sure what it will be called, and you may have to drill down a folder or two). Double click on that and you will see your pics. From there, you can copy and paste as you want, or you can delete them or whatever.
Let me know how it goes. If this fixed you, I'm happy we got you up and going. If you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate it if you would re-rate my help as a fixya. Thanks again, and have fun with your camera!

- Geez. Ok. Let's see. We know the camera works. We know the computer has the right drivers. Try this:
Let's see if it's not a problem with the cable. Make sure your My Computer is open and wiggle the cable around at the camera (but don't pull it out). Then wiggle the cable around at the computer...again, don't pull it out. Check and see if you have any change in your drives.
Then, try a new cable. See if that works and let me know.

- Ooops, "try a new cable", how dumb of me. Sorry.
Don't give up yet Jen. How old is the camera? If it's old, and it was banged around some, the connection inside the base might be bad. If so, you would have to get into it and look to see if the wire has come loose, or maybe just barely hanging on.
Are there any screws you can see? If you won't mind being my eyes, I can try an "see" what's going on in there.

- Well, I'm not so great yet. LOL, wait until we fix it. <grin>Mar 05, 2009
- Are you still with me Jen?
