SOURCE: My Husqvarna Hydrostatic transmission is not

A common problem on mowers with hydrostatic transmissions is the pulley on top of the transmission. Most have splines which wear out. Also make sure fan on top of transmission is turning. Could be overheating.

SOURCE: blowing fuses

try unplugging the pto, starting the mower and then engaging the blades. If it still blows a fuse the problem lies in the mowers wiring. If not the problem is the pto. Hope this helps

SOURCE: john deere 300 garden tractor hydrostatic drive will not work

check two things, make sure the by-pass rod is pushed all the way in and the drive belt from the engine to the rear end (tranaxle). If both check out ok do not attempt to service the tranaxle at home. have thet serviced by a dealer.

Mower wont move forward or backwards and makes a ticking noise when pushed.

Just a thought , maybe the key that locks the pulley to the input shaft on top of the transmission has sheared and the pulley is just spinning on the shaft or the key on the axle shaft that locks the wheel to the axle and that would allow the brakes not to work.

Check the drive belt and make sure the relief valve is in the drive position if this looks good you need a new trans or get it repaired.
