Re: cant find my cd that came with my wrt54gs wireless-g...
You do not need the CD that came with the router to configure it. To do it manually open your browser and type http://192.168.1.1into the address field. That should take you to the routers log onwindow and by default the user is left blank (some routers the user isadmin) and the password is admin. If you changed the password to therouter when you set it up before use that password. That will take youinto the router's set up so you can set up your router. Hope I Helped!

looks like you are trying to set up wireless bridging on the routers right... to get them conencted wirelessly while they are on 2 different networks / modems? if so that let me know how far are the routers from one another and the physical locations of the computer.
but if ther are like a city apart, let me know two, i love networking and i will be more than willing to help you out, i can even give you my contact and we will work on this one.
There can be a problem with the settings of the router that's why only 1 computer is working with it, the best thing that you can do here is to reset the router and reconfigure it back, To reset it press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds while the power is ON then if you have the setup CD you can just run it like when you first install the router but if not you can also manually reconfigure the router if you're not familiar on how to do a manual setup on the router better call Linksys tech support to walk you through with that process they are open 24/7 this is the number 800-3267114...
If the Linksys is not yet configured use the desktop to put the CD in and follow instructions to add the Linksys Router to your existing network setup.
Once inside there are a few more steps to getting a desktop PC to see & network with a laptop PC within a router/wireless environment. Once the Linksys is setup you may want to repost something to get the computers talking to each other.
hi try this before you hit the reset botton.
Check if Windows XP firewall or 3rd party firewall are blocking the pings, and temporarily disable them just to be sure.
The WRT54GS has a feature called "AP Isolation", It's on the "Wireless -> Advanced Settings" page. You won't need it for home use so turn it off as well.
Last thing, do a firmware upgrade.
Hope it's helps
