Forgot password

If you forgot the d-link configuration password - the default user id is admin and password is admin
If that does not work then below the router there is a reset button use a paper clip to push and hold it down for 20 seconds it will reset the password to default ( NOTE : YOUR ROUTER CONFIGURATION WILL BE LOST IF YOU RESET THE ROUTER)
If you need the wifi password Click on the icon, which is usually next to the clock, and then right-click your connection. choose the wifi connection and right click right click and Select Properties and then check the Show Characters box. Doing this will display the password.

WIRELESS GATEWAY

How to View or Change Your Wireless Network Password

Symptoms:

You have lost or forgotten the password to your wireless network
You have lost or forgotten the password for the router, access point or other network device
You left the default password or used a weak password and someone has hijacked your network

Depending on the router, you can either view or reset the wireless network password (also referred to as the passphrase or security key) if you can log into the router. Some routers mask the wireless network password, so while you cannot recover it, you can enter and save a new password.

If you cannot log into your router because you have forgotten the router password or your network has been hijacked, please refer to "Lost or forgotten password for router or other device" below.

To view or reset a wireless network password:

Launch your Internet browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net in or http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 the address field for your browser. Enter the router's username and password.
The default username is admin, the default password is password.
From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router administration interface, select Set Up > Wireless Settings
Note: On some routers this option will be under BASIC > Wireless.
From the center screen, you find the current wireless security settings under the Security Options heading.

If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.

Read more about Securing your Wireless Network.
If you cannot log into your router:

- If you were routed to the NETGEAR website or getting the "Page cannot be displayed" message when trying to login to router, make sure you are connected to the NETGEAR router. Check your wired connection and make sure cable is securely plugged in and LED is on. If wireless adapter is on, make sure you are NOT connected on a different wireless network.

- Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default access information to reconfigure your router settings. NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

I have a WGR 614 Netgear and have forgotten the password and need this to connect for a Wi-Fi, how can I access my password?

If you have the ID/password to login to the router, use them to login to the router, and then view the current password.

If you have "lost" that ID/password, you need to do a "factory-reset" to reset the router to the "default" ID/password. Then, use these "default" values to login to the router, and then to reconfigure both the "wired" and "wireless" network-adapters, and set a new password for your new wireless network.

Hey, my name is Wesley Murphy and I'm having trouble with our Netgear g54 wireless router. We just got a lap-top and we're trying to get wireless set up on it. We do have internet, that isn't the problem....

you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP
also
make sure your routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection

or

if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

hope this helps

last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online

Lost my password and cannot connect new netbook

hi
  • If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.

To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
  • Step 2reset-password-linksys-router-1.2-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep2 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a02/2p/6m/reset-password-linksys-router-1.2-800X800.jpg'); }); Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.
    LinkSys Default Password

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.
You want to go to the management tab and change the administrator password to something else to keep others from accessing your router.
  • Step 3 After changing the administrator password then you will need to enable WEP or WAP security so your nosy neighbors aren't tapping into your wireless network. I am picking up 4 networks with my pc antenna.

    Lost Password to router

Hold the reset button on the router for 30 second, do not let go of it after the diag LED turns off, continue holding it until 30 seconds have passed. After you?ve done this, the router will revert to factory defaults, all of your settings will be lost. By default the default Password for the router is admin, and there is no User Name.
