Before you take it anywhere why not try this idea. I had an iphone that was dropped in the bath tub full of water. I tried to dry it with a hair dryer but it did not work. My oldest daughter told me to put it in a plastic bag of dry white rice and seal it closed. Let it stay in the bag for a few days to give the rice time to absorb the water that is in the phone. I did this and left it for four days and removed it from the rice and the phone started working right away. Its worth a try.
It might be too late, but put it in a bag of white rice for a weak and then charge it or turn it on. gel silica packs work better if you have them. They will **** the moisture out of the ipod touch. if that doesnt work, your ipod touch has been shorted out.
1) turn the phone off immediately (remove the battery if possible) 2) put it in a bag of rice and leave it there for a day or 2 (rice absorbs moisture) 3) remove the phone and turn it on note: DO NOT use a hair dryer...this will push moisture into unreachable places
Put it in a zip locked bag of rice over night. Don't shake or jostle the bag, just leave it sitting on the bag with the device buried in the rice. After the rice "bath", if the device does not come back to life, connect it to your PC and see if it will at least give you the chance to do a backup.
I would not try and remove any backing or covers off cell phones. I dropped my cell in the lake a couple of years ago. I took the battery out and laid the phoone and battery on my dash for a couple of days and this baked out all the moisture. the phone still works today!!
Just put it in a bag of rice for couple of weeks. The rice pulls all the water or wetness out of the phone. How do I know, Well I found a brand New Lg Dare phone in a puddle, put it in rice for 2 1/2 months. I took it out of the bag, put it together, turn it on. To my amazement it worked. Ran to store, bought a charger, and it has worked every day since.
to fix this, you're going to need your ipod, a plastic zip-lock bag, and uncooked rice. first, open the bag and fill it halfway with uncooked rice. then put your ipod in the middle of it all. then zip the bag and let it sit for about a day. the rice should have absorbed all the water by then. most of the times, this will work. but sometimes, the ipod is damaged beyond repair by the water. good luck
hope this helps ;-)
