Question about Westinghouse LTV-32w1 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
I have a westinghouse 32" TV and I tried to update the firmware on my TV to the one that is provided by westinghouse.
I plugged in my USB key and turned on my TV. The TV turned on and showed the message " updating firmware" with a blue bar in bottom of the screen indicating the progress.
The blue bar got struck in about 90%. I waited for about 30 min before i had to turn off the TV. Now my TV doesnot show any picture or has any sound when I turn on.
I even tried updating firmware again but it does not read my USB key anymore.
Can someone help me fix this issue. I talked with westinghouse customer support. They didnt know what to do. But they suggested that I try replace the mainboard from local TV technician. Are they right is saying that? what are my options? ( main board costs aroud 250$ and techincia would charge about 150$ to do it) . Please help!

In the case of anyone that has a dead tv (no power light, sound or picture). there is a company named vance baldwin that sells parts for that model ltv-w4. in your case you need the smps power pcb. probably costs about $60.00. real easy to change take the screws out of the back. the board has about 4 screws and 3 connectors you have to unplug ang replug to the new one. if you feel it is worth the money
