No boot device available means the boot device hard drive on your system has no bootable operating system installed on it, or it is faulty. In the BIOS setup program, does the computer recognize the hard drive you installed, and is it included in the boot device list? If you installed a new hard drive because of a failure of the C: drive, the new hard disk does not come with an operating system. You have to install that on the new hard drive from the manufacturer's system restore disks. SATA channels 1 and 2 are just the connections on the motherboard for devices, and usually have a hard drive on one connection and a cd rom drive on the other. Giving the model and manufacturer of your computer might provide more clues.

You will need to install the operating system on the new hard drive for it to boot.Also you need to set you're boot order in the bios to CD then the HARD DRIVE.Get the operating system set the bios boot order then install it.

Most PC's, including laptop PC's, bootload from the "C" drive.
If the system detects a fault with the C drive you'll get the message that you're asking about.
Try booting into the BIOS. That's the low level system BEFORE the computer boots to Windows.
Depending on the BIOS that's in your computer, you should be able to find a screen that indicates the boot sequence.
Make sure it's set to either the hard drive (C) or the CD/DVD as the primary boot disk. If the CD/DVD is the primary boot disk, make sure the C drive is the secondary boot disk.
If the BIOS is already set up that way, try to boot from the Windows installation disk.

If you can't repair it, have someone test the disk for you; it could be physically damaged.
If that's the situation, you'll need a new hard drive.

First if your computer has a floppy drive, check to a floppy drive does not have a floppy disk in this drive.
Your computer cannot find the hard disk to boot up.
Go to your BIOS to see if the BIOS detects the hard disk, if not remove the hard disk and re-connect it again and see if it boots up.
If it still does not boot up then most likely the hard drive has failed.
To get the computer working again, install a new hard drive, install Windows and the computer's device drivers and your programs.

When the computer starts it flashes up press f2or delete or some other key to enter setup. Go through the settings and there should be one that will allow you to change the boot device. It sounds to me like it is set to boot from the cd rom drive only. Change it to boot from the hard drive and save changes to CMOS and restart the computer. The computer should now boot from the hard drive.

CHECK your bios setting first, and make sure, in hard disk boot priority section, your external hard disk is recognised and set as the first boot device. YOU NEED TO BE SURE YOUR BIOS SUPPORT BOOTING FROM USB FIRST.

IF the hard disk is there u can do several stuff to boot it:(unplug any internal hard disk first, TO MAKE BYPASS CONFLECT ISSUES)
- make sure the drive is seen, whene you are trying to install windows.
- go to recovery console in the setup disk, and reset you master boot record, type:1- fixmbr (or fixmbr c:) >>> WHERE "C:" IS YOU WINDOWS INSTALLATION DESTINATION!
2- fixboot
and then restart and try again......
- try to download plopboot manager, burn it to disk, and boot it, try to load your hard disk frome there.
- install any boot loader, like lilo or grub if you are familiar with, they can boot any os you like!

You can always install Grub to your Master Boot Record of the initial internel hard disk, **** you need to have basic knowlege on how to edit the menu.lst inside grub folder, and basic knowlege of linux partitioning schemr, becoz GRUB need to be installed there as well, **** whene you are already familiar with its use, you can boot any thing you like, even with a friendly boot menu at startup alowing you to choose the option you want to boot.

N.B: make sure you have googled and read about grub, and how to install in, if u have a windows installation on the internal hard disk and afraid to loos it, there is a tool called super grub disk, google for it and download it, it can be installed from windows, and it can automaticaly load windows ntldr/boot.ini.

When it's booting, try to access the setup, aka BIOS. See if you can set CD/DVD as a booting option. As the top BOOT device. Then see if you can boot your installation CD. You may be able to format your drive during the installation - if the hard drive hasn't failed?

You haved enabled the capability for your computer to "boot" itself by reading from a boot-server connected to your network-cable.

But, the network-cable is unplugged, resulting in the "check cable" message.

What this _could_ mean is that the computer primarily tried, and failed, to boot from your disk-drive, and secondarily tried, and failed, to boot from your CD-ROM, and so it made a tertiary triy, which failed, to boot from the "network", i.e., that your hard-drive is not functioning.

Reboot, and enter "BIOS setup", and disable the "boot from network" option, to get rid of those error-messages. But, it's still possible that your disk-drive is malfunctioning.

After installing the new hard drive, you'll need to boot the computer from the recovery disk and follow the instructions to format the drive and install windows. You'll also need to install drivers from the driver disk after Windows is up and running. If the computer won't boot from the recovery disk, you'll need to access the "setup" utility and set the CDROM drive as the first boot device. To access the setup utility, press the Delete key after turning on the power. I hope this helps!

make sure your hard disk is error free Try formating the disk with FAT first ,if it doesn't work out the try disk utilities .
