You should have the trackball replaced or have the main-board check

My tracking ball has stopped working. Tried removing the battery while powered on, but it's still not working properly. Can move sideways but not up or down and can't retrieve messages.

All that is, is dirty. Just push it down a few times and try to roll it in a circle and dislodge what's stuck in it. Once you get it rolling free. Take a cotton swab, dip it in pure rubbing alcohol, not dripping, and rub it all over the ball, move the ball around and let it dry for like 3min. Your ball will be fixed and clean

Cursor won't move to the right

Give this a shot- get out a couple of pages of computer printer paper, place the paper on a flat surface; lock the key pad on your curve. Place your blackberry face down on the paper and gently (don't press down) rub your phone up and down, back and forth a few times. Try your cursor now, believe it or not, this works pretty well (the paper gives enough resistance to make the track ball move). As long as there isn't a bigger issue with the track ball, this should solve your problem.

My blackberry curve 8330 keyboard is locked up. dont know how this happened. ball moves curser up and down on the facepage but will not work when i press the keys. the screen goes black in a few seconds...

the keyboard on the device isnt registering the key clicks because either the keyboard isnt pressing down all the way or the circuit board that the keyboard belongs to is malfunctioning. If it is that, parts for the phone is available on ebay.

When i push scroll button down nothing works only side to side up and down works

This is very common for the blackberry's. Sometimes the trackball gets full of lent and dirt which won't allow the wheels to move. The chrome ring around the ball just pops off and the track ball should come out. Try cleaning it with a small brush. If this doesn't fix the problem, then a new track ball can be purchased on ebay for less than $5

My black berry curve; and its ball is not budging; what is wrong with it?

If the ball is not moving at all more than likely it has debris in it. You can use about 10-20psi of air pressure to blow out the track ball.

If the ball moves and it's not working it's either a bad trackball unit. Or the phones has gotten wet usually.

My black berry goes off on its on,

try taking the prongs that the battery touches and lightly bending them out a bit for a better connection. also make sure the prongs are not corroded. If they are, you can clean with cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.

The track ball on my blackberry 8310 stopped working.

No, but fortunately the trackball is not hard or expensive to replace. If you are technically savvy you can do this yourself. Just purchase a trackball on the internet. The trackball easily comes off if you put a small flat screw driver under the outer side of the chrome ring and pull if off. Let me know if you needed more help. Good luck
