yes i do, i have a receiver and dvd/vcr plugged into it. i just tried to play the sound through the in wall speakers from the receiver and switched all settings and still had no luck.

I figured it out. It was a bad coaxial cable going from the wall to the tv. Once i unhooked the cable from the splitter that connects the internet and the tv on the same line, the sound made check noise and i knew it was the cable. Thanks for your help though.

I still am unclear as to your hook up but lets try this, if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the TV audio and video and a audio cord from the tv monitor out to an input on the reciever, this way you should hear the sound at the tv and reciever.
However if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the reciever first audio and video connections made at the reciever you should just have a video cord fromthe monitor out of the reciever to the tv and your audio will come from the reciever

REPAIR NO PICTURE/NO SOUND ON HLR5677W

I replaced the digital board. It's on the left side of the TV and is the bottom board surrounded by a metal shield with holes.

Now I have perfect picture but now there is no sound. I need to figure out that one, now.

If you replace that board (ebay has them BP94-02084A) and the picture is upside down, you can go to the service menu and correct it by changing the "engine" to Samsung.
Turn TV off. Press mute then 182. Then turn on TV. New service menu appears

No picture or sound

Have you checked the bulb? That's the most common cause of loss of picture, and in some models (I'm not sure about yours) if the bulb is out it also doesn't play sound. Since the DVD sound comes in a different port, it may be still playing that. I'm not saying it definitely is the bulb, but that is the most likely scenario, and easiest to fix (just replace the bulb).

Sound won't work

If your TV has a picture but no sound, start by checking the obvious such as whether the mute button is on or whether the volume has been turned all the way down.

Next check your cable connections and make sure everything is plugged in tightly.

Change channels to make sure that it's not a technical difficulty with your TV service provider or TV station. Call your service provider to see if they're experiencing issues with their audio.

Try reconnecting the HDMI cable after you turn off the TV.

Make sure your remote is on the correct input, and see if you have sound while playing a DVD or video game.

For a simple troubleshooting checklist, see No sound on TV and get more details on some simple fixes for this problem. I hope this helps!

TV on/off button keeps blinking/TV won't turn on

Try muting the sound on the tv, if it is a loose circuit the sound vibration can jiggle a connection and cause the tv to turn off as apart of its safety feature.

if the tv functions correctly while in mute then you now know it is a loose circuit.

if the tv continues to turn off even while in mute it is shutting down by the main power stand by safety feature, it may need a new main transformer.

if the muted sound solved the problem then unplug the tv and look in the back for the main transformer, the manufacturer usually places the main board on the box of the main speaker, the speaker could be vibrating a circuit loose from direct contact, the main transformer is heavy and would cause issues over the long run with high fadelity sound systems on big screen tv's. check solder points on main board.

No sound on JVC AV-48P575 48 inch rear projection TV

Try going into the menu and find something called, "center channel input." If it is on, the sound will not work. Turn it off, and the sound should be restored.
