I'm a solo performer using mp3 backing tracks, a korg mutli effects for rock soloing and 1 mic for vocals all going through a mixer then outputed to Bose L1 Model 1.
i. whats the best guitar effects...
You have several questions here and I'll do my best to help. While I'm not familiar with the "Bose" system I am performer that uses effects, mixers and etc. so....
1. Best effects to use. I would choose a small amount of guitar chorus and maybe a short digital echo, this is totally a matter of your choice, but in my experiecne, use as little as possible, you don't want to muddy up your sound
2. If your getting clipping, you have to much gain coming in, if you can you might try changing the settings on the "compressor" if you have such adjustments., or just turn down the output from your effects box a bit.
3. You didn't say what kind of mixer you are using, but typically your best off running your mic through the mixer, run the output of the mixer into a channel on the bose that has the graphic eq set to 0 or "flat", use the mixer to control treble, middle and bass rather than the bose amp.
4. Variation in volume of your backing tracks is an issue that you need to take care of before you play out. When you record your tracks, you need to either use equipmennt that will make the levels all the same, or sit with the system while it records and control the volume (with a mixer) as they are recorded, nothing ruins a performance more than profound changes in volume that override or dimish your main performant, (e.g. your vocals or lead riffs)
Let me know if you have further questions. good luck and Keep on Rockin
HHhhhhhmmm, not used express, but i just recorded them straight into a bin in media composer, can you not do this? Maybe try turning of open tracks and select one, like the little confused thing asks. I take it you are registering audio input before trying to record?
