Question about HP Photosmart 735 Digital Camera
The lens is out and camera is off. The batterys are brand new and I have changed to different ones. Was working great then all at once quit.
First and foremost, 95 percent of the problems with the lens being stuck in or out is dirt, grit, or sand in the lens mechanism. The rest is either, the pins are out of alignment, or in extreme cases it's a problem on the circuit board ie. power.
If you keep your camera in a case, that is what does it. Cases protect your camera as well as provide a place for dirt to accumulate. Eventually, the dirt works it's way into the space between the lens and the camera, or worse, into a cog that moves the lens. Try to blow out the obstruction with an air compressor. Put the nozzle of the compressor to the camera in the space between the lens and the camera. Blow it out real good and see if that fixes it.
I have more fixes, but they require extreme measures and should only be tried if your at your wits end, and ready to trash the camera. Let me know with a comment.
