BIOS Password without removing the CMOS battery or messing with the hardware how does one reset the BIOS and HDD password to "null" or nothing. I currently know the passwords and want to have them removed.

    I see the password fields for the BIOS and HDD, however they both say registered. How can they be "unregistered"? I click the spacebar/ backspace to change the option, leave it blank and then click enter. It still retains the previous passwords....

    The computer is a Toshiba Satellite M45 S265

Enter the bios

You should see something that says Administrator Password, hdd password, etc.

Not all bios menus are the same so you gotta poke around a bit.

Let me know if you need any more help or if something is unclear.

Best of luck!

I have an aspire one acer computer and I forgot the password ... is there anyway to recover or change password without lossing anything??

Disconnecting and reconnecting the Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)/Real Time Clock (RTC) battery can work to clear Basic input output System (BIOS) passwords in some models. The CMOS/RTC battery on portable computers can sometimes be accessed by opening one of the small compartments underneath but, more often than not needs the computer to be disassembled. On many portable computers, removing and replacing the CMOS/RTC battery has no effect on the BIOS password because the BIOS memory is archived in BIOS-related capacitors which retain a charge even if the computer is disconnected from the mains electricity or has its battery removed.

If the forgotten password is an Operating System Password then you really only have 4 choices:

Try to recall the password;

Use another computer to download password recovery software, burn a password recovery tool stored on a flash drive or a CD (depending on what the BIOS will allow) and use that to find and enable you to clear or change the password to something more memorable (see below for websites);

Remove the hard disk drive (HDD) and use another computer to connect it to and back any important data up to the computer or another storage device, then reinstall the HDD to the original computer and reinstall a fresh copy of the Operating System (O/S), drivers and programs;

Or (if no important data was stored on the HDD), just go ahead and wipe everything on it by installing a fresh O/S, drivers and programs.

I changed the HDD password and when i tried to enter it, its not accepting and after 3 tries disables my system. is there any way around this or a way of resetting the password or system

Hi,
The simplest way to remove a BIOS password is to simply remove the CMOS battery. A computer will remember its settings and keep the time even when it is turned off and unplugged because these parts are powered by small battery inside the computer called a CMOS battery. If we pull out this battery, the computer will forget alot of its hardware settings, including its BIOS password. This should not be performed on Laptops if you are not experienced working with laptop hardware.
Hope this has helped you... Thanks...

How to break the bios password?

Hello,

All you need to do is just to power off your system, remove the battery and unscrew all the screws that will lead you to your board.

When you are at the board, remove the cmos battery of your laptop and put back your laptop battery to power on the laptop for a while, power on without the cmos battery, your laptop will be reset and will not ask of the bios password anymore.

After it has been reset, you can now put back the cmos battery and couple everything back.

Your laptop will work without asking you bios password anymore.

Take care

How do I use the CMOS AMI BIOS password decipherer 2.02?

Why not just :
Use the CMOS reset jumper.
Pull the battery out.
Start the PC without RAM modules ( not on all MB's )
Try Master password for your BIOS ( use google )

Anyway it probably will not decipher your BIOS pass and will just null it anyway

Bios and Hdd id password protected . i want to

You should be able to clear these passwords by removing the BIOS backup battery.

You will have to take the laptop apart to access the system board.

Remove the screws from the bottom of the laptop (checking under bumpers)

You should see a flat-cell or plastic-coated series of flat-cells with a two wire cable going to the system board.
