The reset switch goes on pins 5 and 7, the power switch goes on pins 6 and 8, the hard drive led is on pins 1(+) and 3(-), the message led is on pins 2(+) and 4(-).
In this situation, you said,"socket", but, depending on the case you have it in, you may have to pull each wire from the socket and plug them individually. To remove them from the socket, use a very small jeweler's screwdriver and push into the socket from the back beside each wire, unlocking the tab and pulling the wire at the same time, will release them one by one. When they are all free, you can follow them by hand to see which goes to the switches and which goes to the leds.
Tell them where the individual pins are in the Front Panel header. Tell them where Pin 1 is, and how to find the other pins.
If you have the board facing correctly with the processor up top, the header will be at the bottom right corner beside the white 3pin sytem fan plug. It should have odd numbers on one side in a row and the even numbers on the other side in a row. The spot where a pin is missing is known as the key. It is number 10, therefore pin 1 is all the way left on bottom. 2 is above it.

Is it an ECS PM800-M2 motherboard?
Uses a VIA motherboard chipset, (VIA PM800 / Northbridge chip, and VIA VT8237 / Southbridge chip)

(Yeah, I know. Europe is not a country, it's a continent)
A small window will come up -
Opening PM800-M2_10.zip
Make SURE there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of Save File.
IF not; click in the empty circle to the left of Save File.

Allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
In the next small window go to the far left, and click on -
Extract all files.
At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on -
Next, Next, and Finish.
[DO NOT change anything in the second small window.
Windows knows where to put the file.
Just click on Next ]
In the last small window, there will be a red Adobe PDF icon, and the file name next to it.
DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
You are now looking at a PDF file version, of the Motherboard Manual.
The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the Main wires from the Front Panel go to, is the Front Panel header.
If you cannot figure out the Front Panel header pinout, post back in a Comment.
