VG4 mode on Insignia 19" widescreen LCD wont accept computer

Ive tried hooking up my new Insignia to my computer to be able to use it as both my computer monitor and a TV. It has the hook ups in the back for it but every time i get everything together it says Mode Not Supported. I dont have the manual, so is there anything i can do to get it to work? a new cord? or something i need to do on the TV?

Go to your control panel of your computer (using a different monitor obviously) and change your screen resolution to 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, or 1440x900. any of those resolutions should work. also go to advanced and make sure it is set at 60 herz.

What is the "digital output" for on my hd tv? it has a square cap and when I pull the cap off, it seems like all thats in the is a red light. what is it for? Side note- Im trying to hook my older hp...

I believe it is for Sony Devices Digital Output. You should be able to hook up your TV via High Def or using a Monitor cable. Your laptop should recognize this as a second monitor and you can choose to mirror or extend your display in control panel. You can also select your default audio output as the TV while its attached. Hope that helps.

VGA side
and DVI side,

hard to help lacking
what TV
what Tower
what connections, and special adapter (HDMI)
the TV has DVI??

I have a dell precision m60 and I want to hook it up to my hitachi 55 plasma tv Ive tried to do this via s-video without success

Trying to hook up your computer to the tv? Or the monitor to the tv? Anyways, you can't hook up the monitor to the tv to see the same thing on both. But for the computer to the tv, connect the s-video cable to the tv from the computer, and you have to press (on the computer) ctrl+alt+F2 or ctrl+alt+F1 it's different for some computers. But if that's what you tried to do, that's the way you do it.

Anyways, hope this helps.

Toshiba 32AV500U HDMI issues

The Toshiba 32AV500U cannot display 1080p. Hook up your PS3 to your computer monitor, provided that it can display 1080p, or some other TV that can, then change your Video Output settings under Settings> Display Settings and uncheck 1080p, which will allow the PS3 to display in 1080i. Once you do that, then hook up the Toshiba via HDMI and it will work with no problem.

Insignia LCD TV won't recognize computer input...

Heres the dealyo.
Click start button
Click control panel
Click display
Click settings
adjust screen resolution (probably have to go down) until the tv displays your computer
if this did not work, you will have to adjust bit rate from 32 to 16. Fiddle with the settings until the magic happens.
You will not get any sound unless you use an audio jack plugged into t.v.

Im here all week
