Question about HP Pavilion TX2510US Notebook

1 Answer

Startup/shutdown I slide the power button on and it turns on. then it takes the better part of 3 minutes to get though the start up screen. sometimes it doesn't start up, then the hd indicator light flickers on and off every second. then, when it does start up, i go to shut down, then it takes forever to shut down. it only shows the shutdown screen and then the circle next to it. help? please?

Sounds like a failing hard drive.

Have you got an XP or Vista cd around?

Black Screen

this is a power related issue. Try to remove the battery, remove any cd that may inside the cd drive, remove any usb or anything connected to the pc like a network cable. and remove the charger as well. Now press and hold the power button for about 2 to 3 minutes. This might have been caused by improper shutdown or power fluctuations and or if you slide your laptop on a bed or carpet, this builds up static electricity around the computer's motherboard and may prevent it from starting up properly. Then after pressing the power button for that long, replace the battery only and try to switch on the machine and observe. I hope this will solve your problem

If you can very vaguely see the icons or pictures displayed on the screen even though dark it maybe either a problem with your inverter or Lcd backlight. If no images are seen even though you look carefully then it may be the onboard vga controller. It maybe worth checking to see if your laptop is under warranty with Hp see link.

I have hp pavilion tx 1000 since 3 days it takes 7 minuted to start and takes forever to shut it down so i have to forcefully shut it down please please help me

look up what you have in the startup files, alot of stuf you download puts thier product in the startup and it will take longer for your pc to turn them on and off:

Goto start menu and type in:
MSCONFIG

goto start up and turn off anything that you do not need to run at start up....becareful that you do not turn off key components to your system...just look for software you have downloaded...this will help speed up your start up and shutdown....

Toshiba M45-S165 startup issues

This is normally a motherboard issue. I had one with the same symptoms and I had to replace the motherboard. Worked great after the board was replaced. I had to replace the board because unlike your issue mine stopped working all together. It did take a while before it quit though. Just a note: I have had to replace several of these motherboards for customers as well. If your LCD is broken, you may be better off to save your data and put it in a new laptop that would include a warranty unless your super fond of the machine or you have access to inexpensive parts.
Hope this helps...

My HP Pavilion not started (no power)

incorrect shutdown with low battery will always cause problems....
first of all youre gonna have to put some charge into the battery...
then..press the power button to startup and wait for activity...lights , sounds etc..then press and hold power button until you hear pc shutdown.then restart...you may have to choose startup in option screen like start with last good config etc but now it will be back on.

For solving blue screen error

HP Notebook PCs - "Windows Unsafe or Sudden Shutdown" Blue Screen Error Occurs During Startup or Boot

Description
Windows XP may not start and the following error message may appear on a blue screen:
Windows Unsafe or Sudden Shutdown
This error occurs after Windows was not shutdown using a safe method. The notebook may have been turned off without clicking Shut Down or briefly pressing the computers Power button. The power may have been suddenly disconnected from the computer or the Power button may have been held for more than 5 seconds.
An unsafe shutdown can damage some of the Windows system files, preventing the computer from starting properly.
Solution
If the error occurs allow the operating system to complete a check of the hard disk. Windows will prompt your to run CHKDSK. CHKDSK scans the hard drive for damaged files and repairs the files if necessary. The scan may take up to an hour depending on the size of the hard drive and the number of damaged files. The computer will restart when the scan is complete and Windows should start normally.
If Windows will not start or the computer will not boot after the scan is complete see: HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting a Startup or No Boot Problem (In English)
