Hp pavilion tx1000 screen its loose

Hi, im not good with english but Ill try my best..
I have had this hp pavilion tx1000 notebook for a year...
information and picture: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/prodinfoCategory?lc=en&cc=us&product=3185028&dlc=en
The problem is... that the screen its loose, its not tight enough.. so it flaters a lot... It got like this is because the use.... the screen rotates and moves far down... so it got loose.....
another problem is that I cant go somewhere to fix it, because there is no place... I live in a really small town that its kind away from city...
Anyone knows how to disarm the screen so I can personally make it tighter?

thanks a lot!!!

Hey i just fixed that.. except i broke one very IMPORTANT metal part i think i fixed it with epoxi solder. here it is http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=19209 but that guy just tighten the 4 screws.. youll si if those are loose.. but mine werent. youll have to take those screws, and then take that little part off (just pull. if its loose, will come off really easy) then put some tape, or paper to make it tight, and hammer it back on and youll be set. you can make it softer (the friction) by loosing the screw nut on both sides.
when i broke mine, was when i was pulling up the beezel the part with the HP logo. the speakers were hard, really hard, but that hp last part was REALLY HARD.. well and it broke.. the left little metal part. think ive done something wrong. i hope doesnt happen to you. my english isnt good either.. my first languaje is spanish.
good luck!

Even after getting the laptop apart you won't be able to tighten the hinges because of the way they're manufactured.

You'll have to buy replacement hinges.

They go for about $30 on ebay.

Here's what they look like:

You should be able to take the laptop apart yourself. If you ask for a service manual here, someone might be able to dig one up for you.

Best of Luck!

Well I managed to tighten the hinges, is just a matter or using some pliers and grabbing the nut at both extremes and rotating them clockwise. My problem is that while mi wife was opening the LCD case, she broke the plastic counterpart that is attached to the hinges, so now I'm doomed. I just pasted with some instant cement the metal hinge to the plastic cover where the counterpart once was. I'll tell you how it went.

HP TX1000, WILL NOT POWER ON (NOT BLANK SCREEN)

Have you checked your power supply to make sure that it's putting out the proper volts and amps, or if it's shorting out in the wire or possibly internally. I've run across a few where that was the problem; which had similar symptoms to your tablet\touch screen. If the power adapter is bad, then you might as well buy a replacement off of ebay. HP will likely want an arm and a leg for one of theirs. I like HP laptops, but I have to admit that I've been pretty disappointed with them as far as being "long lasting". HP has had some serious issues with their laptops over the last few years.

My hp pavilion tx1000 laptop display got off( not displaying any thing

Two possibilities, your backlight is loose and needs checking or even replacement, or the cable connecting your screen is loose or mulfunctional. The first case if the most likely and common case. Considering how narrowly your screen connects with the rest of the computer and how on many occassions people 'just looove' to swing that screen around, it comes as no surprise that after a while it would start acting up. If you're into dismantling and reassembling computers, well, try and access the cables connecting your scree, check them and make sure they are okay, next, check your backlight and all its connections just to make sure everything is seated okay [all the above will require that you open a few things here and there] Good luck

Pavilion TX1000 - WiFi card suddenly not detected

The solution is, get a USB wifi adapter, because that card is done. HP REFUSES to recognize this problem, and since the majority of failures happen after the warranty expires (mine did) HP just says you are SOL. You can get decent wireless adapters for $20, and your wireless problems will be solved. Unfortunately, expect your laptops motherboard/chipset/dc port to fail within a year :(

I had the same problem, also on a HP Pavilion tx1000.

Now the pen works great and I'm a happy camper. :)

Help with my hp tx1000 please

Mine has already twice made the same thing. Solution was simple - got the touchscreen changed (luckily under warranty). As third problem required change of the motherboard, I'm planning to get rid of the piece of junk alltogether. I think it is a solution for all the troubles with tx1000.
