Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook
Hi, im not good with english but Ill try my best..
I have had this hp pavilion tx1000 notebook for a year...
information and picture: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/prodinfoCategory?lc=en&cc=us&product=3185028&dlc=en
The problem is... that the screen its loose, its not tight enough.. so it flaters a lot... It got like this is because the use.... the screen rotates and moves far down... so it got loose.....
another problem is that I cant go somewhere to fix it, because there is no place... I live in a really small town that its kind away from city...
Anyone knows how to disarm the screen so I can personally make it tighter?
thanks a lot!!!
Hey i just fixed that.. except i broke one very IMPORTANT metal part i think i fixed it with epoxi solder.
here it is
but that guy just tighten the 4 screws.. youll si if those are loose.. but mine werent. youll have to take those screws, and then
take that little part off (just pull. if its loose, will come off really easy) then put some tape, or paper to make it tight, and hammer it back on
and youll be set. you can make it softer (the friction) by loosing the screw nut on both sides.
when i broke mine, was when i was pulling up the beezel the part with the HP logo. the speakers were hard, really hard, but that hp last part was REALLY HARD.. well and it broke.. the left little metal part. think ive done something wrong. i hope doesnt happen to you. my english isnt good either.. my first languaje is spanish.

Even after getting the laptop apart you won't be able to tighten the hinges because of the way they're manufactured.
You'll have to buy replacement hinges.
They go for about $30 on ebay.
Here's what they look like:
You should be able to take the laptop apart yourself. If you ask for a service manual here, someone might be able to dig one up for you.
Best of Luck!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
