On cold days when I start my 94 f-150 up it revs up to about 2000 or higher rpms. It will calm down after about 5 minutes and run fine. Or if i give it a little gas it calms right down. When its real cold it will rev up high, check engine light will come on, idle down and sometimes stall or regain to norm. Ive heard many different problems and none really like this.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks,
Jay
Probably is a emissions sensor problem, lots of these parts are plastic. check out the throttle cables, lub em wd40. there is a type of valve somewhere on top of engine, it may be cracked, pcv valve stuck. lots of possibilities, almost too much for solution online. something emmissions with an electronic sensor is acting up.

its winter again and i have yet to solve the problem. it is doing the same thing except now i start it and it will rev high w/ check engine light then stall once. then ill start it and it will rev w/ check engine light then fall then go normal. I know you said it is hard to say what it could be, but do you think it would show up on a computer engine check if i payed a shop to do it? and do you have any suggestions of how to find out what it is.?
