PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. This is a uniqueeight digit code specific to your SIM card. This is required when the PINnumber to unlock your mobile phone is entered incorrectly 3 times. You are thengiven 10 attempts to enter your PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is enteredafter the 10th attempt, you will block your SIM card permanently and will requirea new SIM card from your mobile phone provider. PUK codes can be obtained through the following ways -
The PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack.If you do not have this then -Please contact your phone service provider. Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once you give themyour account details and they have confirmed your identity.
The easiest way to get the PUK code is to call your service provider, such as T-Mobile or Verizon. They need to verify your cell phone number and your IMEI number and they will provide you with the PUK code.
when the lg cu500 says "enter nck remaining: 5" means u need to enter an 8 digit number to unlock the phone. the 5 is the remaining 5 chances u get. once u use all 5 chances and keep entering the wrong code carelessly... u will then be prompted to enter a puk number which is only provided by cingular/at&t (as ive heard).
i have my old lg cu500 i am trying to find an unlock code without having to pay for one. a friend of mine needs a decent phone that works and mine is just laying around not being used. i switched carriers and cant use a gsm phone. im now on a cdma network. she doesnt have the money for another phone so this is why im trying to unlock my old phone to give to her.
The phone doesn't have a puk code, every simcard has its own puk code.
if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times, you can't enter it anymore, time to call your service provider for instructions or possibly replacement sim card. I've explained more on this page http://www.bukisa.com/articles/19406_puk-code
if you insert a new sim card to the phone it wont ask for puk code, as its only the simcard that gets locked after 3 wrong pin codes.
The only way to unblock a hard lock on your puk code is to ring your service provider and ask them for the specific puk code for your sim. The puk code means he has tried to change it more than 5 times with a wrong code and as such the phone goes into protect mode as such. You should never muck around with a puk code and there is no reason to change it. Hope this helps you
hey buddy what u can do is u can put wrong code 5-6 times after that it will ask for a PUK code which u can get from ur service provider, if it does not helps u, u can go to any vendor nearby u it will be done by him/her.
