Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I put a new cartridge in still won't print black ink
The HP88 black cartridge contains is a pigment ink type which I've found from painful experience has just not been tested properly by HP for use with this printhead.
The problem will not be the cartridge but most likely the printhead which will have clogged due to heat, lack of humidity, etc..
The best solution I've found to date is to purchase a new printhead and find a 3rd party ink supplier with dyebase black ink instead of the pigment type. The printhead is much less likely to clog and can cope with a wider range of temperatures and environments compared to the original black.
I hasten to add this is based on my experience in four primary schools and from three printers at home all of which use the HP88 cartridge... Warm and dry environments just stop this printhead after a short period of time whereas cool, humid spaces seem to keep the printers working much longer.
Hope this helps.
