Question about Philips GoGear HDD075/17 MP3 Player

My mp3 won't turn on nor will anything read it

The computer acts like it's not there i can't power up nothing what can i do?

You may have to change the battery - difficult with this model.
•Battery capacity: 750 mAh
•Battery Type: Li-ion

But before you try that, go ahead and get the new software for the model from Philips website - specifically, the new Device Manager, and run a Repair.

My first act digital drum set won't turn on AT ALL! HELP!


If this was not new I would give you some things to try but I would return it and ask for my money back and then spend a bit more on a more reliable product. First Act is not a "quality" company by any means.

It wont turn on or play music it seems as if nothings working but when i plug it to the computer it still reads whats on it despite the screen or anything isnt on


Check the lock/unlock switch on the top of the unit. What you described has happened to me, and that is what the problem was.

Sansa e260 MP3 player is completely frozen up


hold it for about a few moments. so it can like reset.

Phillips 30gb will connect to computer but wont sync anything


Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Try another USB port
Reset the player

If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.


If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

my mp3 player is just showing a blank white screen. it wont turn on, wont turn off, my computer wont recognize it, nothing. whats going on and how can i fix it? thanx. anything will help at this point.

Computer wont read mp3 player when connected

No response, no turn-on, dead player! help!

Problem: No response, no turn-on, dead player! help!by mtx410 on Aug 28, 2006 I was loading files, when the transfer locked up, and the computer threw an error. i couldn't do anything but unplug the player! After I did this, i tried plugging it back in, and half of the world "initializing" popped up on the screen, the first half was missing! it did not do anything more. so i unplugged it again. Now when I plug it in, nothing happens. The computer recognizes that new hardware is plugged in, but cannot recognize what it is. Nothing comes on the mp3 player's screen. It will not power up when i hit the power button. It has no response, it acts like there is no battery in it. I have taken the battery out, and put it back in. Nothing happens when any of the buttons are pressed, or when it is plugged into the computer. Is there anything I can do to get this thing working again! It is the M260 if that matters.

My player won't turn on!!!


The m25 will not power on if LOCK/UNLOCK is in the locked position. If you press the POWER button, a padlock will appear on the LCD to remind you that the unit is locked. Confirm that the LOCK/UNLOCK switch is not in the locked position and press POWER to turn it on. If nothing happens after pressing the POWER button, the battery is probably discharged.
