It will use pc100 sdram.
your fsb is only 133mhz so no ram over 133mhz.
only can use 512mb.
would have come with 128mb installed.

Very very slow need ram upgrade just want to find out how much ram i can put in to it

When purchasing RAM make sure ram modules are of the same brand any type
IE corsair ddr3 low density or hynix high density ddr2 you should always try to keep the same brand and type of ram
reason being the compatibility issue

and always place the largest ram module closest the CPU central processing unit

also check the ram sockets for dust and make sure the ram modules are securely seated you can do this by pressing the levers at either end of the ram sockets.
If you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the
Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.
First you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system.
You should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible.

Added 2*1GB Offtek RAM (DDR2-6400 - Non-ECC) to Dell Inspiron 530 alongside original 2*512MB Samsung memory. Get two beeps at startup (No memory modules are detected). Starts fine with original memory but...

It may be compatible, but is it also rated as compatible by the Dell website? and is it the same type of RAM as your old RAM? According to the Dell website your system comes with 2GB as standard and will only accept 4GB maximum. The fact that the system doesn't start with only the new RAM and is fine on just the old RAM would indicate that your new RAM is not compatible or is faulty.

RAM compatibility HELP

Yes this pc3200 is hardly compatible, because your motherboard is supportable of DDR 1 type RAM, Hence th PC3200 = 400 MHz, so you can add this ram to your PC, such that the ram which is between 266mhz to 400 MHz is absolutely a DDR1 type . please dont forget to vote for me.

I am having p4 PC with 915 motherboard & 255 DDR-1 RAM. what is the max RAM the PC can use ? I want to know that DDR-2 RAM will work on 915 motherbord ?

Hello,

it does not have an exact maximum RAM.

The reason the Ram did not work with the mother board is because, the Ram is not compatible with the mother board.

Until you get the exact compatible RAM, the board will not recognize it.

I have experienced this a lot of time.

I wish you the best.
