Hi!!! make sure your icemaker filling tube is not blocked with ice.its where the water comes into the icemaker .it can freez on you.put a hair dryer on to the filling tube and icemaker for 30 minutes. Also you can jump start the icemaker by putting a jumper wire show in this picture .If no ice then go to the back your frig and change your water valve ..

In that era they made 2 types of ice makers. If yours is the type that makes half moon ice cubes then it can be repaired.
You have to remove the ice maker. 3 screws and a wire plug. unsnap the front plastic cover. Remove the large plastic gear. You will see 4 screws one on each corner. Remove the screws and lift the plate away from the body. The ice maker must be pointed up.
You will see a small microswitch, on the right side. It has failed.
The switch is universal and most appliance houses will have a replacement.
I have made it sound simple, but it can posse problems since there are a lot of alignment issues in reassembling it. If your handy at this sort of thing you'll be O.K.
If the icemaker is the style that has a large plastic tray that the cubes are formed in, then that is another issue, and should be handled by someone who knows the icemaker.
Some appliance parts houses have someone who can perform these repairs, but unfortunately, the second style when removed, will shut the machine down completely.
Thanks for using FixYa
