Kenmore HE5 error code F28 on spin cycle

Just intalled a Kenmore HE5 washer and on second wash on the spin cycle at about timer 16 minuets or so display showes F28. Had service out three times each said its a ground wire problem. No fix, small loads do not seem to be affected. Tech has ordered a wire harrnes asm. I would like to know what the code means. Tech will be out to install it tomorrow. I am not sure tech has a handel on the problem.

F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).

All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.

Four minutes after a wash cycle starts, the machine stops, all selection lights blink, alternating with code FG28. What's wrong?

The F11 and f28 codes are from a communication break in the serial link from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit)(from the brains to the washer motor controller). Stay with me here!
There are three blue wires that go to the MCU from the CCU. Most of the problems probably occur during the final spin when the machine spins fastest and longest to extract all of the water.
Hence, the most vibrations cause the connectors to shake until there is a break in communication!
Take the top of the machine off (three #20 torx screws on the top back) to gain access into the machine. The CCU is top center back and has the spaghetti of wire going to it. You will see white wires on the far right of the CCU. Then going left they turn to black. The black set (3 wires) left of the row of white wires if for the Door Lock/Unlock. It IS a problem for the F/DL error. It is not making a good connection. Next the blue wire on the LHS of the CCU, last set (back) there are three blue wires. These 3 go to the MCU and are the serial communication lines. Tighten all these wires to make sure they are making good connections. Make sure your machine is level with all the feet on the floor. You do have a 24 month warranty one the machine so call a tech if within that period. To insure that this may be the problem, take a ride and sit on it during the final spin ;-) If it works then you know it's probably the wiring, if it doesn't buck you off first.

getting f28 error code Kenmore Elite HE3 Washing Machine

Close the door. Select any key (except stop), using the same key; Press/Hold-4 seconds, Release-4 seconds, Press/Hold-4 seconds, Release-4 seconds, Press/Hold-4 seconds, all the led's will flash for 5 seconds. Any failure codes will display in estimate time remaining and the led's will flash. Press the same key to advance to the next failure code. If the console does nothing the same failure code was recorded multiple times. When there aren't any more failure codes all the lights on the console will turn on for five seconds then tell me what you got.

Error code f-28

F28 means your washer is locked and not unlocking. To unlock your washer take off the bottom access panel by removing the 3 bottom screws. Reach up near the latching assembly & attached to the door latch is a little plastic pull lever. Pull down on this lever and open the door. Unplug your washer for 60 seconds and plug your washer back in. If the error re-occurs you need to replace your door lock.

It was putting out a error code of f28 I changed the main board on the inside of the washer no it wont run the last spin cycle but it will do every thing else was there anything else I was supposed to do...

F28 error means the CCU(central control unit) lost communication the the MCU(Motor control Unit) for an HE2 washer.
I would look inside the lower front panel and get the tech sheet and run a diagnostic test per the instructions... See what comes up. Review troubleshooting for the F28 make sure you did not miss anything.
I hope this helps

Help my kenmore will not run a compleat ccycle

* The motor spins backwards during extraction, so there could be a problem with the motor, timer or a short in the motor wiring harness. Unplug and replug the harness.
