Many of the RCA TVs are not compatible with universal remotes. Only the RCA 246 remote works with many of the TVs. I bought a floor model RCA from best buy, at a discount, without a remote. I had to purchase the RCA 246 remote for the tv to work. I found one but I recently cracked the screen of the tv so I have no need for the remote. I listed it on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140550835863&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
crack in the screen? well the screen is the end result of small light mirrors and a color wheel that can project up to and more than 16 million colors ...... so that screen is very important to recieving these light shows and making a nice picture. a crack ... yes you will see all kinds of crazy things... and even probably on your wall behind you.
need new screen and problably a nice check on alignment.
Philips has Projection tv, screen cleaning fluid and a soft brush also to clean your set. You can buy this in most stores like Walmart or online. And remember that your screen have grooves in it so follow the patterns. I think most goes up and down. Hope this helps!
