Question about Dishwashers

Frequently failing TCO

Whirlpool dish washer WGU1500XTKQ0. TCO has failed several times. Operation seems normal: No excessive current-drain. No excessive temperature. When it runs, it runs well. What's happening?

I have the same problem. I have changed the TCO three times and has just failed again. I have looked at all possibilities of hot moist air getting in behind the panel and could find nothing out of the ordinary. I measured the current draw through the entire cycle, it is within the rated specs.
Is there anything else that can blow the TCO?

The TCO comes with a plastic sheet to protect it from the hot moist air. Was that installed on the new TCO? Somehow moist air is getting into the console.

Dishwasher does not drain

Dishwashers do not drain the water has to be pumped out of them.

If the water is not being pumped out on any cycle then the pump has failed and you either need to replace the water pump (which will be quite expensive) or buy a new dish washer. Pump failure is a pretty common in part because of the amount of debris many users don't rinse from items before placing them in the washer. Also the filters at the base of the washer need to be removed and cleaned frequently and this is often neglected.

If the water is only remaining in the washer for the final rinse cycle but is otherwise being pumped out on the wash cycles, then the issue will be with the electronic control board.

Whirlpool dishwasher wont wash

if the bottom tub is filling with water but not washing the issues is with the wash motor, some of this model use a start capacitor that can fail, if it has a capacitor on the side of the motor it may have failed but are difficult to diagnose but are cheap to replace so worth trying, if this doesn't help or if it doesn't have a capacitor then the fault is with the wash motor.

Dish washer trips GFI several times durring a cycle.

why do you have your dishwasher plugged into a GFCI? I have never heard of this being a requirement. Do you have a GFCI receptacle or circuit breaker? The receptacles are notorious for failing after a few years.

The dishwasher is not draining properly and there seems to be lots of suds although the detergent packet was not used during the normal washing cycle.

If your dishwasher is connected to a garbage disposal and not used frequently and you
hand wash dishes on the disposal side, the soap that is used for hand washing dishes
accumulates in the dishwasher when you pull the stopper. This soap sudses excessively in
the dishwasher when it is run. This happens quite frequently in the apartments I service.
I have to put in several pans of water and turn the timer till it pumps out several times.

Also, make sure the disposal is working properly or the dishwasher will not drain and dish
water will back up into the dishwasher. There is usually a 5/16 allen socket to free
the disposal located under it in the very center of the disposal as well as a small red sqare
reset button once the unit is freed up. Make sure switch is off at wall before attempting
service.
hope this helps.

My Bosch Dishwasher is not drying my dishes now. The model number is SHE44C05UC.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, it seems that the heating element has failed. The dishwasher uses steam to heat the tub to dry the dishes. I suspect your dishes are also being washed in cold water.

To check this, please run a regular full wash cycle. Allow the washer to fill with water and run for about 10 minutes, then open the door and feel the water temperature in the bottom of the washer. If the water is cold, it's more than likely the heating element has failed.

There are other possible faults which would cause the element not to heat, but these often prevent the dishwasher from completing the cycle. If the water is cold but the dishwasher still drains the water at the end - and completes the cycle - the heating element has probably failed.

Please try this simple test for water temperature and let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Dish washer fills and then drians without washing

If you're sure it is heating the water, then it sounds like the wash motor/pump has failed. If you've worked on washing machines and/or dish washers before, this is potentialy a DIY job - the Haynes Dishwasher manual is very good, and parts can be found on the internet.

The reason for cheking it is actually heating the water is that the symptoms sound very similar to those of a failed heater = fill, pause, empty, stop usually accompanied wth an error code. Error code will be presented by a number of flashes of a lamp, or a number on a display panle depending whch machine you've got.

It doesn't work--there is an error message OE or it just beeps & shuts off w/o cleaning the dishes.

If you can get a repair-man to come out at least once or twice more and the problems aren't solved, you definately need to get on LG's case and have them replace it. My LG dishwasher was repaired about seven times before LG would do anything. I bought mine from an appliance dealer and they even had to fight just to get a response from LG. When LG finally agreed to replace the dishwasher (about a year after all the troubles began) my retailer allowed me to choose another brand of washer. I'd recomend a KitchenAid or Whirlpool, they have performed well in my home in the past and currently as well. The problem with your dishwasher right now is likely the motor. It seems to be the big thing that goes on all theses dishwashers. For me the motor was the last part to fail, it was having a hard time draining, the soap was not being disolved, and the dishes were always coming out dirty. My repairman told me that the LG products have been **** and he wouldn't recomend them. He told me this as long as I made sure his boss didn't find out. Good-luck with your fight against LG Customer Service, I hope you manage to resolve this faster than I did.

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
