Power unit on test for Kenwood kgc 7043

Trying to get the unit to power on, hooked up the power wire with the blue wire, put it to the + of the battery, hooked up the Black wire to the - side of the battery, hit the reset button on the eq, eq will not power up...does it need the head unit in order to power up? trying to test just to see if it works or not.

Need wiring diagram

ok here is the basic setup. the yello and orange will be power wires. on is for battery constant and the other is for switched power to signal for the unit to turn on. the black is the ground wire. the other wires are for speakers as long as they have a match. example... white wire goes with whit wire with black line, purple to purple/blk ect. i saw a blue wire that was there but is probably remote as well as any wire that is blue/ white is a remote wire. if you dont care about having memory on the stereo for like am/fm station just hook both yello and orange together to power and black to groungd and your good to go.

What is the blue/white wire on a kgc-6042a car equalizer and the yellow which is the power

blue/white would be the "turn on signal" wire, i.e. one that gets 12v when the unit is supposed to be on (this would correspond to the amp turn-on or power antenna wire from your CD player) whereas the yellow wire is the 12v constant power wire.
