Problem for Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Xbox 360 comes on dashboard pops up but wont go to the game

I have a xbox 360 with no hard drive. The game when turned on, the xbox symbol pops up and it goes to the dashboard screen. But when you put a game in or one is already in it nothing happens. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you have uploaded the updates, this happens all the time. you must go to "my xbox" option and there will be a disc there. Hit "A" and it will play the disc.
