Wireless Network Adapter suddenly disconnected?

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire z5700 All In One PC, have had no problems connecting to and /or detecting wireless networks until recently, I cannot pick up any wireless points I have installed the latest drivers for the wireless network adapter but the adapter is not showing up in Device Manager and when I enter BIOS it states that the media is disconnected. There is no problem with the router as it works perfectly on my PS3 console. Is there a way to reconnect the adapter? It is a Ralink RT3090 and I'm running Windows 7. I have read posts with similar problems and tried the soloutions to no avail. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

SOURCE: Network Adapter

hi Coolieman
Just to basics, remove or disable on BIOS the network adapter
then go on (XP I PRESUME) on save mode and see if you can disable or uninstall any net card.
2) Reenable the net card, and if redetect , install the drivers according, sometimes the PC install them for you.
try again your setting on the lynksys.

SOURCE: network adapter prolem

I need more info before I can help much. Try this if possible.

is the network adapter park of the motherboard or is a separate PCI card?

If you can remove the card, I would remove it and restart the pc. Then turn off the computer and reinsert the card. Power the PC back up and see if windows even detects a device added. If it does not, then the card may be toast.

I install a clean windows 7 in my acer aspre 5315 now it cant detect my wifi how to enable it

Hi,

You may need to enable your Wireless adapter. You can do this by going into Control Panel then network connections. You should see a "Wireless LAN" icon. If you right click on it you can choose enable and then you can browse available wireless networks and connect.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Does the acer aspire z5700 desktop have a built in wifi router or do i need to purchase and set up a router to enable home sharing network?

While it doesn't have a built-in router, it DOES have a wireless adapter built in. So if you were to purchase your own router (or rent one from your ISP), the computer would work fine with it.

Hi,my Acer Aspire 3683 NWXCi is unable to detect wireless network and some drivers are not working,is there any free recovery disc to overcome this problems.

the problem is most likely located not in your computer but in your wireless router or connection source itself. Disconnect the modem, mor router from any power source for at least ten minuets and then make sure EVERY connection is firmly in place.

WIRELESS CONNECTION

Go to the Device Manager and check Wireless Network Adapter properties. Is the Wireless adapter installed, working properly and enabled? If not then reinstall the wireless LAN driver.

If it is OK then go to the Control Panel and click on Network Connections and right click on the wireless connection anf then click on Repair. This will make the wireless router issue a new IP address to the wireless LAN card and you whould now get access to the Internet & your network.
If this doesn't work power down your wireless router wait 1/2 minute, power up and boot up your laptop after all the normal LEDs on the wireless are on.

Let me know if you still have problems plus all error messages.

Wireless icon has disappeared from system tray and when I try to open network centre/connection icon it will not open.

The following solution has worked for me:
- Right-click "My computer" on the start menu, and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Hardware" tab, and select "Device Manager"
- Check if the wireless adapter is listed under "Network adapters"
- If it's not listed, right-click and select "Scan for hardware changes"

With any luck, the wireless adapter should be detected, and the drivers installed.

I have a Acer Aspire desktop PC. I am running

It shouldn't get hot. Warm, perhaps, but not HOT.

One of two things are wrong:
There is a problem with the power regulator on the USB adaptor
0r
The antenna circuitry is not in match (impedence mismatch) with the rf amplifier and the rf amplifier is overheating.

If other units plugged into your USB port(s) do not overheat, I would think that rules out a problem with the PC.

Acer Aspire Wireless Connection

hello

lets start with reinstalling the wireless drivers / software on the laptop.

open device manager by rightclicking my computer and select manage.

on the left side select device manager

then on the right side, find network adapters, open it from the + mark

right click on the wireless adapter and select uninstall. Then restart the pc. The wireless will be reinstalled when you start up the pc again.

See how your wireless works, if there is no change go back and right click on the wireless and select properties, then click on the drivers tab. and click on update driver, let it look for a update online if asked. if it doesnt find a update

you can get the newest wireless driver from acer at this website
