I don't really think that your keyboard has anything to do with your network controller. I'd suggest to update the keyboard driver to a newer version if there is one. Can you tell me the model number and the brand of keyboard?

Can you get an internet connection ??
you will have to open up your network connections to check the state of your internet connection
click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be fire walled

Make sure your isp provider is allowed in your fire wall settings
your network adapter might not work, and you do not have network connectivity or any related network functionality.

Device Manager may list your network adapter as not working and as not having a driver installed.

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver if you see a yellow ? ! question or exclamation mark or red x means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver

the driver could be on the motherboard disk or the one supplied by your ISP internet service supplier or you might need to download it

Did you leave it on--maybe the batteries are dead or maybe subconsciously your hand likes the other mouse better? Nonetheless, I'd re-introduce or resynch the mouse and antannae (changing the batteries might not hurt either). Also, if they are similar, make sure that your computer isn't trying to use the other mouse driver to run your primary mouse (depending on your OS, the default mouse should show-up in your Control Panel--hardware devices and make sure that it correlates to the one that you want). Good luck & I hope this works.

This usually works for most device problems. Go to the device manager and scroll down to the mice and pointing devices as well as the keyboard. If the keyboard and the touchpad are listed in the device menu, then you can right click on the device and click on update driver. Windows will search update for a fresh driver. If the devices are not listed, then go to Acer support (link below) put in the model of the laptop....Aspire > 1640Z and a list of downloads will come up. Download the drivers for the keyboard and /or touchpad. After they are downloaded, run the apps, they usually self install.

If they are listed in the device manager (device manager is in the control panel....in XP, look in the system flder under the hardware tab.) and the above fix does not work, then scroll down to them and when you right click, Hit un-install, but keep the drivers. Do this one at a time and let the system reboot after each uninstall. Windows will detect the device and load the driver for it.

This is the manufacturer driver download page, you may need to update the wifi netwrok card driver, probably the Broadcom file, if you got to the "Control Panel" and goto the system icon and double click, then click on the hardware tab, then deviceManager, and see if any Devices have any "Issuse" (anything except for a "+" sign next to the catagory. then install the corresponding driver.
